2014-2015 Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This may be a weird question, but how come Einstein has no Facebook groups for any of its classes? You can search up other schools by year but AECOM seems to be the only one with no Facebook footprint other than their main page haha.

We do have a page but it's not searchable 🙂

That's a major thing, though 🙁 I am in-state and Downstate would be less expensive, but Einstein is a school I definitely liked more and would attend in a heartbeat if finances were even. Is it still worth the cost, however?
I'm in the same boat 🙁 I am in between Downstate and Einstein but it is down to finances (i'm in-state as well). I would attend Einstein in a heartbeat if the finances aligned in my favor.

For people that filled out the scholarship application (this year and last), did you hit the character limits for all of the essays? The one about career goals seems naturally shorter to me

Post interview rejection today. Interview was in mid February

My tour guide said that the school was willing to try to work with you on financial aid if you're stuck. Can't hurt to ask!

Does anyone have any sort of information what the WL movement here is traditionally like?

The HP waitlist moves. I've never heard of anyone getting off the regular WL, but I only know a few students (all of whom got off the HP WL, btw).

Don't give up hope! Show them love and they'll keep you at the top of that pile.

I've heard of one person getting off of the regular wait list. I'm not sure if she commented earlier in this thread or if I was creeping on last year's thread. Anyways, she sent a letter of intent along with 3 additional letters of recommendations. She made it very clear that Einstein was her first choice and they accepted her. So it is possible 🙂

I'm going away for a week so I'll evaluate when I get back. I have a few people that are willing to write me a letter of support and I might cash in the favor when I get back.

I really loved the school, so let's see.

did anyone get an email with their financial aid award today? i can't access it so I was wondering if it's working for anyone else

hey guys a couple of questions

1. interviewed mid december and haven’t heard back. is anyone in a similar boat?

2. has anyone gotten accepted since feb 19?

Same boat, interviewed end of October.

Waitlisted, interviewed March 4th. Really wanted an acceptance.

waitlisted as well.. interviewed mid-feb. my favorite school too :/

if there's one thing I regret, it's that I didn't try to get my interview date moved up (idiotically).

Future applicants, move your dates up to get into the first batch of decisions!

I agree with this!!! but i tried to get mine moved up and wasn't successful

When did you guys interview?
Interviewed March 13th. OOS LizzyM ~72

Had a terrible feeling walking out of my interview and should have requested a new one.

I really wish there was more than one faculty interview.

Oh well...I've learned you can't take these personally.

Best of luck to everyone still in the running!

I don't think moving up the interview helps since their ranking of your application likely dictates when they offer you an interview. Moving up probably means you just find out sooner.

"Under state law, even if Montefiore were to promise employment to all current staff, Einstein would still be obligated to issue the WARN notices to avoid being held liable if Montefiore later reneged on its promise."

So basically the article says nothing.

I disagree - I thought line in the second article of "most *qualified* employees" are expected to be retained was a telling line. That sounds like removing redundancies/dead weight to me.

My point was that it's not even close to clear what they're doing and these notifications seem to be legally required because hands are changing.

Therefore this is all just conjecture and there's nothing actionable yet even though what you said might be accurate in the future.

Ah you were quoting the second article while I was referencing the first.
