2014-2015 Drexel University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
so it seems like drexel notifies its applicants, post-interview, via snail mail?

My status said "decision has been made" so I was anticipating a WL letter by mail but I received a rejection letter instead. So it seems like the "decision" vs "final decision" doesn't really apply this year. 🙁

I just wanted to acknowledge that this post gave helpful information. I am sorry about the rejection, and wish you the best of luck throughout the rest of this crazy process.

I'm sorry to hear that ;(

When did you interview?

Has anyone else gotten the "a decision" status and received a letter that is not a waitlist?

did anyone get accepted yet ? if they will send acceptances after all the wait lists then I don't mind waiting 😉 ...btw had my interview 10/1

Thanks so much for your correction ! Much needed.

Perhaps a soul much braver than I could call and ask for a clarification regarding any final decision/decision terminology? Just throwing it out there

Has anyone heard of any previous applicant receiving the hold until spring before an II status, and actually getting an II later in the cycle? Or is this pretty much a death sentence... I can't imagine with all the applications that they get, they would actually have available interview spots later on in the cycle.

There have been invites from hold the last few years, but rare. If you intend to be one of these, keep sending updates.

WL letter received in the mail after decision status.

Bummer, dude. Your pic and name are awesome.

I have two questions I feel like I have to ask because of my paranoia about computers and these automatic forms (But hey, that mistrust helped me figure out that 2/35 applications didn't submit properly).

1. Is people's login ID for Drexel the same as their AMCAS ID? I'm asking because mine is slightly different from my AMCAS ID by only a couple digits. This is very strange to me.

2. If you are under review still, what does it say so on your status page? Is there a typo with an "and" where it shouldn't be?

1. No, Drexel has a separate ID it sends you when it invites you to fill out the secondary.

2. That typo is painful, but somehow I didn't notice it when I applied. Under review pre or post interview?

They have denied this exists when people call for the past few years, at least. Don't be that guy and ruin this little bit of extra info that you guys can get from the portal updates for future applicants.

Interviewed 10/13 and it seems like my interviewer hasn't submitted the evaluation yet because it still says my interview has been scheduled :/

Their email for completion asked for a 3 month hold to send updates. So it sounds like they do accept!

Their email reads: "We endeavor to make decisions in a timely manner, however ,we have many files to review. Please allow up to three months for an update." I think by "update" they mean their decision following the review process, not an update letter from the applicant.

My status just updated to "The Admissions Committee has reached a decision on your application." Let's see what happens when that letter arrives. Interviewed 9/22.

Same, got the same status today. I interviewed in mid October. Don't know what to expect anymore.....

Same, since someone else got "decision" instead of "final decision", but it ended up being a rejection instead of a WL. Fingers crossed. lol

Anyone receive IIs lately? I feel like it's been radio silent since actual decisions have been getting mailed out over the past two or three weeks

Anyone from the 9/17 interview date get their decision yet?

For those who have received their letters already, how long did it take from the time your status changed to arriving in your mail?

Do you guys think there is a difference between a "decision has been made" and "the committee has reached a decision"? haha. Or if everyone had the latter......They must love toying with our minds.

I have "the committee has reached a decision" no idea what it means though

I wonder why they changed the messages this year. Guess they didn't want us to decode them before receiving our letters. lol
