Any one know if NYU as sent any acceptances to people that interviewed in October?NYU and Mt. Sinai both released acceptances today. The 1-2 punch of NYC Med School.
Based on their twitter post, it appears that the first batch of acceptances went out today. I would assume that that means that several other waves are planned as well (excluding the natural openings resulting from accepted applicants withdrawing).
Yeah, I assume that it's way too early for them to make THE big round of acceptances before the waitlist. We're in this together!I called them, and they were very quick and adamant in stating that not hearing today does not mean we won't get in over the next few months. More waiting, then! Trying to stay optimistic 🙂 i know I'm far below their average stats, so maybe it'll just take a bit for them to decide whether or not to take a chance on me.
still waiting for a II here. I was one of the unfortunate few who got a false II on 9-8 (they offered an interview and immediately emailed saying there was a mistake). Is it not likely that I'm getting one?
Ditto. I sent in an update and they offered an interview 10 days later so if you have anything to update on let them know!Same thing happened to me and I got an II after. It is certainly possible!
The update is to be uploaded on the portal right?Ditto. I sent in an update and they offered an interview 10 days later so if you have anything to update on let them know!
No. All interview slots are essentially filled. So unless you have a 4.0 and a MCAT >40 you pretty much have a snowball's chance.Should I even bother submitting my secondary today? Someone please respond.

DO IT! Unless the cost of the secondary is a limiting factor. You just never know.Should I even bother submitting my secondary today? Someone please respond.

lol. The likelihood of you getting an interview is less than the likelihood that they open up new interview days...Should I even bother submitting my secondary today? Someone please respond.
Or uploaded to the portal I believeTo those that have interviewed, thank you notes are supposed to be sent to the general admissions email, correct?
No check out procedure. I think we kept the name tag but even if we didn't it shouldn't be a big deal.Okay, so I had my interview at NYU a couple of weeks ago, but I was pretty sick (I took a bunch of cold meds and so the whole days was such a blur). I was just going through my duffel and realized I took my badge/nametag with me and also realized I never 'checked out.' Is there a check out process? Do I need to call admissions and do something?
I also never sent a thank you note (I thought I didn't need to since it was MMI).
I'm just now recovering from what I now know was walking pneumonia so am just thinking about all these things and hoping I didn't screw things up.

I haven't sent any schools update letters yet... Do you think a first author poster + continued interest is a valid enough reason to send correspondence to NYU? I would love to hear good news from this school. I interviewed on their first day in early September and obviously did not receive an acceptance earlier this week during the wave of admissions decisions.
Keeping my fingers double crossed. Means there is still about 30 slots. Give me one please!!!!I heard that more than 80% of the seats have been offered. Is that true? Someone close to the school said.

When you say 80% of seats, do you mean 80% of the class size has been offered? Most schools have to offer 2-3 times their class size in order to fill it (including NYU).Keeping my fingers double crossed. Means there is still about 30 slots. Give me one please!!!!
Not sure but I will try to get clarification. When you say 80% of seats, do you mean 80% of the class size has been offered? Most schools have to offer 2-3 times their class size in order to fill it (including NYU).
My source said that slightly over 300 acceptances have been given out so far. Does not sound good for me. I interviewed in early October. Have BS in Biochem and MBA, Science GPA 3.90 and MCAT of 38. Oh well...still keeping a positive outlook. Perhaps better news from another school soon but I really want to live in NYC.When you say 80% of seats, do you mean 80% of the class size has been offered? I know that this isn't necessarily a great argument, but Michigan is also trying to fill a similar sized class as NYU, and they've only given 110 acceptances so far.I would predict that the number is probably closer to 70%. However, 300 does not seem completely unreasonable if there are still 190 acceptances to be given out. It has been shown that schools with rolling admissions tend to give out more acceptances to the candidates they interview earlier.
What a bummer. I interviewed in mid Oct. too but no news. Congrats to you. Are you a NY state resident?Accepted today!!! Interviewed mid oct.
Any recent II's out of NYU? I plan on holding on to the dream of an NYU SOM education as long as possible.
Most IIs go out on Tuesdays, so I am hoping for a Hail-Mary II reception tomorrow.
