This time, I was ready for the webinar email. Only a mild panic attack...it's the small victories, you know?
I swear...these webinar emails are going to actually give me a heart attack one day.
In reality, has anyone been able to attend one of the webinars? They seem interesting, but I can't make home in time after work.
How was it? worth taking time off to catch?Went to one.
I went to one about the free clinic and it was pretty informative and interestingIn reality, has anyone been able to attend one of the webinars? They seem interesting, but I can't make home in time after work.
I've gone to several and really haven't enjoyed them. They're not like most webinars I've been to--there's no visual aid typically. One had a webcam to the speaker, but it wasn't an organized presentation. How was it? worth taking time off to catch?
I've gotten the Certiphi email from schools where i am already accepted. The "conditionally accepted" means that you're accepted, unless the background check shows that you were hiding something major on your application I think.Has anyone received an email from Certiphi? I guess that implies you're wait-listed?
Because here (http://school.med.nyu.edu/criminal-background-check) it says it's for 'waitlisted or conditionally accepted candidates'...
I was placed on alternate for one school which could lead to a waitlist, so I'm not sure if that counts. I was also deferred from immediate decision from another school, which I take to mean still under active consideration.Has anyone received an email from Certiphi? I guess that implies you're wait-listed?

Good point. There's an easy way of finding out.It just seems odd that nobody who got accepted (earlier in this same thread) seemed to mention the background check email..but wouldn't accepted people need to undergo that also?

Heyo, applicants accepted to NYU! Have any of y'all gotten any info regarding Certiphi background checks?
The way I see it, we can get 3 types of answers:
1) Yes from someone who's been accepted to NYU and accepted/waitlisted at other places, which will tell us almost nothing
2) Yes from someone who's only been accepted to NYU and has no other acceptances/waitlists, which will tell us that NYU has started sending out background check requests
3) No from someone accepted to NYU, which will tell us that NYU hasn't started sending out these requests, and our previous speculation is likely just speculation.
why does everyone make it sound like you get a certiphi background email from each school you're accepted at? Don't you only get the email one time?
At the financial aid webinar, the dean said they were aiming to release decisions by next Friday.
Did you hear back from admissions today? Thank you! It's happening!!

Same, it's been a constant cycle of replaying my MMI in my head. I just want to know so I can start either celebrating or getting over the rejection. At least there's only a week at most!!Honestly, I don't even know if I want to know, given my performance on the MMI. Can't stop checking/thinking about it, though. I guess hope dies last! Best of luck to everyone!
Has anyone gotten a merit scholarship with their acceptance email? Or does anyone know when they are offered?
EDIT: I looked all over online before it occurred to me to check last year's thread. Apparently financial aid stuff was announced March 31st. And according to a random PDF I found online, there are 7 cost-of-attendance scholarships given out each year.
I suspect that the tweet is in response to the impending snowstorm, because if the weather gets bad, there may likely be nobody physically present at the admissions office (and therefore no one available to answer the phones).https://twitter.com/NYUMCAdmissions that last tweet is sure a tease
No more interviews... so can we contact them for our decisions 😉
So do we know if they call or email acceptances??
I'm pretty sure they email out acceptances based on what everyone who has been accepted has reported in this thread. So do we know if they call or email acceptances??
also, it seems like the entire NYU will be closed tomorrow 🙁(

this does not bode well for admissions decisions by the end of this week...here's to hoping that the admissions office can telework.😉
Lol, I think them having a day off due to dangerous amounts of snow is okay, we will survive.
