just got the hold email...sigh...i guess not getting rejected is ok i guess..was complete 7/21..is there hope? OOS
 
Do they reject pre-interview? Are people who they are going to reject and people who may get II later after hold email are in the same pool?
 
No interview, but application is still under consideration. 🙁
 
II! Complete 7/18. OOS non trad 3.5/30 heavy clinical and research experience including publications. Is the only date available 9/6??

That's the only option I had.. two interviews in 3 days that week, could be brutal. 😕
 
I also only saw the 6th available...

I'm OOS, 3.3, 29, 2500+ volunteer hours, non-traditional, URM, lots of interesting/unique ECs and life experience.
 
Got e mail of no interview at this time... Assuming its the hold.... But bunch of you were on hold 10 days ago then II today? That gives me hope!...

Anyone get the hold last week and no II today?
 
Just found out that I got placed on hold as well.

I did not receive an email, but I found out via the secondary application portal under communication status. The description was labeled "interview status update" and I got really excited because I thought I had been offered an interview. I then read it and it said they were unable to send an interview at this time. Bummer

Yeah no kidding... "interview status update" is a killer of a hold email subject line....


with the few of you receiving II shortly after the hold, it almost seems like small pool type process...

So does your portal directly say you're "on hold"? Because I got the "unable to grant you an invitation" email, but my portal doesn't say anything about a hold. Just an "interview update sent."
 
This is the hold email:

"Thank you for your continued interest in the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson. We are unable to extend an interview invitation to you at this time. However, your application remains under consideration and you may be invited for an interview at a later date. Any changes to your status will be communicated via email."

Is anyone in the 9/27 group 2 interview considering flying out of Phoenix? I'm trying to fly out that night but the latest flight out of Tucson is 4 pm which is cutting it close...

haha no no sorry that was poorly written. I was going to take a shuttle to phoenix for a 6 pm flight but ultimately am flying out of tucson at 4 and hoping the tour gets done right on time!
 
Are there are any current students around that could talk about what they love about the school?
 
OOS here waiting on the secondary. Anyone know if they selectively send out the secondary application to specific individuals? I haven't heard anything from U of A (not even a "we have your application" acknowledgement), so I'm growing a bit nervous...

Anyone have any pointers?

i think they send a secondary to anyone with a 24+ mcat

I got it yesterday but was down in Mexico for a few days so it was a nice surprise to see when I came back! But no I was never on hold and I was complete July 17th.

Don't let those get you down; I got one last year and then got an II email two days later.

Can't say for sure. They didn't seem to be doing preinterview rejections last year, and the interview season runs into February.

Thanks for your reply! I might call about it then, because I'm confused why I didn't get one since I more than meet the threshold. I do have a lower GPA, maybe that got factored in.
