did anyone who interviewed 3/21 hear anything back yet?
I'm not sure if the committee met yesterday or will be meeting tomorrow

Same. I didnt get a confirmation either. It's hard to say...I think our chances are very slimInterviewed late October, and still haven't heard back. The update letter that I sent near the end of March hasn't been confirmed to be received. Do we still have a chance?
If the second look event is tonight, how does that affect the selection process? Is this more-or-less a privilege for those who have multiple acceptances? Does this just mean that those whom are granted an acceptance after today would not have a second visit?Looking forward to meeting you all tonight at the Second Look event!
Generally second day looks are common at other med schools. May 15th is the deadline for those with multiple acceptances to pick one school. There won't be another second day look but I think ours is one of the latest. If the second look event is tonight, how does that affect the selection process? For those accepted after the second look day, there should be another smaller one in May.
How do you know people have been accepted since the second look day? Isn't second look for people who are already accepted?
The Admissions from TempleU said that the May 15th date is old, and April 30th is the new date.Generally second day looks are common at other med schools. Aw I see. Principle is still the same. The Admissions from TempleU said that the May 15th date is old, and April 30th is the new date.
if you aren't accepted already, that means you're on a waitlist. nobody gets rejected post-interview until the very end.Did anyone get post-interview rejection or waitlist? I really wish to hear back from this school (any kind of decision), so I can plan my next year..

There is waitlist movement. If You interviewed you are on the waitlist until class is full then we get a big rejection wave at same timeSo, I've heard nothing. They won't even send a waitlist email?
Are they done at this point?
How full are they?I'm going to call Tammy today -- does anyone have questions they'd like me to ask the admissions office?
they wouldn't say specifically. Tammy said they still have outstanding offers. Also, she said the wait-list isn't necessarily ranked. I understood it as the wait-list is in groups (but I could be wrong). Also, she said that some post-interview applicants have been rejected, so not necessarily everyone who was interviewed (and haven't been accepted) is on the wait-list. She was very nice and pleasant to talk to!How full are they?
Ya. Nice in person also! Thanks for asking and reigniting a small hope for me to get bashed down in a few weeks 🙂. Best of luck!they wouldn't say specifically. I believe so... but I still feel like UCR's waitlist is a lot larger than most other schools. So this means if we haven't heard back, we're on the REAL waitlist right? I thought they were waiting until the last minute to reject all post-interview applicants.

No. Let's say at the April 30 deadline 20 out of the 50 acceptances were declined. 20 more acceptances were sent out with a one week deadline to accept. These offers are considered outstanding until the student accepts or declines or the one week deadline is reached. Let's say 10 out of 20 decline or let offer lapse. Then 10 more acceptances will be sent out. Etc etc until all 50 spots are accepted. Then the class is full and rejections are sent outSo by outstanding offers, you/she means there are more people who've accepted than there are seats? Is that the same as saying that at this point in time, they've over-accepted and are waiting for it to go down below 50?

YesThey let you know of acceptances via email correct?
Withdrawing my application today since I will be going to a different school. Best wishes to the rest of you hoping to go here!🙂
Loma Linda right?
Were you accepted here?
1 or 2 more 🙁 and I didn't get that email. Oh well. Western it is!Yes, I am going to Loma Linda.
I did not receive an acceptance from UCR. I got an email asking me to withdraw from the waitlist if I did not intend on eventually matriculating there if offered an acceptance. They said that they anticipate handing out one to two ore acceptances, and they want them to go to people who actually will matriculate there. Since I do not plan to go to UCR, I decided to withdraw from UCR and let other people move up on the waitlist.
That's what I was thinking also. The only caveat to that is I sent in letter of intents over the last few months. So they technically know I'm willing to matriculate. But honestly I think they only sent that email to the top -10 or so?I feel like they sent those emails to people on the high end of the waitlist. Does anyone think otherwise?
Here is the exact email I got.
Dear Class of 2019 applicant –
We are very pleased you chose to apply to the UC Riverside School of Medicine. We are close to filling our new incoming class and expect to make perhaps one or two offers in the next few weeks. I know you have a strong file and may have already chosen another medical school – if so, congratulations. However, if you would like to continue to be considered for a seat in our upcoming class, please let me know. At this stage of the admissions cycle, it will serve both of us best if we offer an admission to you only if you would seriously consider matriculating to our medical school.
Again – thank you for applying and taking the time to interview with us. If you wish to remain on our wait list, please let me know – if you would prefer to be removed from our wait list, I would appreciate knowing that as well. Look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Neal Schiller

When did they send you that email btw?
I feel like they sent those emails to people on the high end of the waitlist. Does anyone think otherwise?
Then why say in the email accept 1 or 2? That's kinda odd 🙁In that case, hopefully one of you inherits my waitlist spot, since I won't be taking a spot I don't need from one of you. 🙂
Given this assumption, this move by UCR should mean of the 264 people they interviewed, a lot of the people on the top-end of that list is either accepted and matriculating or accepted but applicant declined. UCR likely did it so they don't send out meaningless acceptances to people who won't go there. A lot of wait-list movement should now occur, especially for people on the lower end of the wait-list. Don't give up hope yet!
