Congrats - that is so exciting!!!When were you complete, if you don't mind me asking?
I was completed 8/14! MCAT 31 and GPA 3.5. Worth noting that my dad did his fellowship here, so since I have lived in MN, I mentioned how much I enjoyed living there when I was young!Congrats! Stats?
Congrats to those who are interviewing!! Did you guys get an email or a phone call for the II? If I remember correctly, someone in this forum did mention a phone call invite..
Are we supposed to get a complete e-mail? Or is okay to just have the 2 green checkmarks on the application site for application and fee status with all LOR received?
It would be easier for me to do the Oct 10 interview over the Setp 19th interview, do you think waiting 3 weeks will make any meaningful difference in my chances here?
I got an email for my interview invite, but this was for Twin Cities! 🙂 Hope you hear back soon!Congrats to those who are interviewing!! Did you guys get an email or a phone call for the II? If I remember correctly, someone in this forum did mention a phone call invite..
Does anyone know what time the interview day ends here? Any chance I could make a 4:45 flight?

I know. As you can see, I'm very much ready for Friday night to be here. 🙂Just trying to take your kind off things. Good luck elsewhere
I'm a little confused, do I have to wait for the letters of rec to reach them before I can submit the secondary?
I have a longer write up on my MDApps, but in general it's a low key day. You get the interviews out of the way early in the morning, and they're set up so you do interview > break for a speaker > interview. I had one faculty and one student interview, but most people seemed to have two faculty interviewers. YMMV. The interviewers do have a general rubric of questions they have to go through, but I still found the interviews were pretty informal and conversational. After the interviews you have lunch with some students, the tour of the school, a financial aid talk, and then Dean Patel breaks down the process and timeline for hearing back. You also get shown the new medical device laboratory that they built recently, which I found extremely cool. Our tours was pretty great because we had some really energetic and funny students that really sold me on the community there, and the transparency of the admissions process was great. Overall, it was a fun experience and pretty low stress. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.Has anyone here had their interview yet and care to comment on the overall experience? I have mine in a week and I am curious about what it's like. Thanks!
It took a week for them to get back to me.I emailed my request for the interview dates last week and they still haven't gotten back to me. Has this been anyone else's experience?
Good luck!!Interviewing here tomorrow! First interview of the cycle and I'm feeling it...nervous and excited!![]()
what were your stats?Wondering the same thing as an OOS applicant with below average stats....
Pretty much everyone receives the secondary; they do screen out really low stats (I think it's something like sub 3.2 and 26, or along those lines). They do also take a bit longer to get the secondaries out to OOS students so don't lose hope yet.Wondering the same thing as an OOS applicant with below average stats....
I'll share simply bc i wish i had known what it was like prior to the interview. First I had two 45 minute interviews, 1 MD (with a student in the room listening) and 1 Student. BOTH will speak to the admissions committee on their opinions of me and my strengths/weaknesses as an applicant. It was an open interview so they had access to my file with the sole exception of my MCAT and GPA. They did ask a few questions about my app that was more-- please expand upon this statement. But for the most part it was behavioral based...asking me to assess myself and what would i do in this scenario etc. There was some great down time in between interviews to calm my nerves and socialize with the other interviewees (about 16). My personal experience was not as positive as some of the others and really i'm the only one to blame as they did everything they could to be welcoming and kind. I erroneously believed that it was a closed interview and thus did not review my application...HUGE mistake so now you are all forewarned.
Hey for those you who have also interviewed already, did they say anything about contacting your interviewers for thank you's? I interviewed 9/19 and don't recall it being mentioned even
was your retired one an Ob/Gyn doctor?Woops missed that somehow. One of mine was retired and the other doesn't have contact info online that I was able to find. Time to bug admissions I guess.
Peds I believe. Super nice guywas your retired one an Ob/Gyn doctor?

thanks so much for the info!Hey I was there today too!! I had the same feelings overall. My first interview felt very rigid, and I did not feel comfortable. Mostly behavioral questions, though my interviewer did let me know it would be like that before we started. I thought the time in between the interviews was helpful to relax, and then my second interview was much more relaxed and fun! The tour was informative, and the medical student panel gave great insight on what it's actually like to go to school there. Overall I liked the school, but I got a headache after the first interview and I didn't quite enjoy the day as much as I could have.
