Interesting. I never received that above email. Do you know approximately how long after secondary submission that you received that email? It's been a month now since I was checkmarked as complete on the portal but I haven't received any such complete email

I got that email immediately after submitting the secondary. I think it's automated.

You're right, I did receive that just after submitting. OK looks like there was no second complete email, cool

For the joint MD/MPH program, if you check that box, could you still get into the MD program? Does it affect your chances at all?

I applied MD/MPH; from what I understand, the MD and MPH admissions look at your application separately and only if MD accepts you will MPH office go through your application.

Hey guys, USC is a reach school for me. I just got an email for II. Do they send secondaries to all applicants regardless of stats?

II = interview invite, just so you know! I think they do send secondaries to everyone, but they certainly don't send interview invites to everyone!!

Congratulations on the interview! Yes, they send secondaries to all applicants.

Ugh. Right after I emailed the school with an "in the area email"
I saw this "Applicants are strongly discouraged from attempting to contact the Associate Dean for Admissions or members of the Admissions Committee." on the website.
🙁 hope for no repercussion.

I'm thinking it's just for direct email correspondence like "Dear Dean, I love you! Accept me!" type emails. lol

🙁 I'm sure you'll be fine. And did you get a Geffen interview!?!? Or will you be in LA/socal for another reason?

I wish. I'm visiting LA in Sep for professional reason, so I thought that was quite compelling...

Has anyone submitted updates to Keck? Just got my first II here and wanted to let them know what I've been up to, but there isn't a spot on the secondary.

"NOTE: Application updates are not accepted." <--- part of the automatic response you get after emailing the admissions office.

I think 'in the area' emails are just fine though!

I feel pretty confident saying that MD/MPH are reviewed with all other MD. I also feel confident advising you all against in the area calls/emails- the previous poster is the first I've heard in 3 years attributing an interview invite to an in the area notification. It's a small office and you don't want to start off on the wrong foot.

Just want to report what happened to my In the area email. It became a very very long status update listed after the other status such as secondary invite/received/complete. The entire content is listed as status from Dear XXX to Best, FFH. Not sure how I should feel about this...

Do you mean secondary? II = interview invite. Somebody else made this same mistake a few posts up...

No I mean interview invite, sorry for the confusion.

Bring them to my place when they're done at yours! Maybe both of our interview invites are waiting to be sent out in their next batch! 🙂

sometime around 8/15 when my rec letters went in
avg applicant (avg clinical experiences, avg scores, avg research)

Sorry to hear about your rejection 🙁. When did you submit your application though? I was complete 8/5 but I submitted 7/28 :/ I wonder if they're reviewing by submission date rather than completion date (when letters were received)? Or did I just get skipped 😵.
I feel like I pissed them off cause I sent them too many LOR's

I was complete 7/13 and still haven't heard anything

Congrats to everyone with IIs! If someone doesn't mind, how does the interview invite look? Is it an email? Does it update where it used to say "Application Is Ready"?

I'm hoping they're going by highest rated applicants based on the individuals who posted so far! You guys are superstars. Otherwise, it looks like I've been skipped over, I really was hopeful for this school as well. Seems like USC has such a great culture and I would live in Cali forever if given the chance.

Yup me too. I completed mine 7/16 and I haven't heard anything from them yet. I always have the urge to just walk into the building their office and ask what's going on!? I do research in the building across from the admissions building. :boom:
Same..I do research on their campus, doing undergrad at USC, and definitely have stats that fall within the range.

If you're a USC undergrad, apparently they wait pretty late though before they send their II's though. My only USC friends with interviews here have rediculous stats

I'm currently a graduate student on the health science campus. I guess there's nothing we can do but to wait. My friend told me that the dean reads through all the application herself and decides who to interview.

Maybe I shouldn't have used so many cultural references in my secondaries then...
