I haven't received my survey yet either but got the hold letter on Monday...
I have not yet, but I'm still riding my acceptance emotion from last week. I am planning on doing it after New YearsTo those of you who have been accepted, did you go ahead and pay the application fee/make an account/submit the EVEA?
So the hotel I where I was going to stay apparently lost my reservation..... Anyone have any good suggestions that are decently close but don't cost an arm and a leg? Seems like most of the ones they recommend are pretty pricey. Any of them do discounts? Thanks!!!
Under that assumption, if we receive an email saying something is on the way, it's probably an acceptance letter. If we don't hear anything, it's most likely that we will have to fight our way up the WL in May. May the odds be forever in your favor.Nope. Wondered the same thing myself. I'm assuming that those of us under review for the second time would not receive another email if a decision is made, since the email was for the survey, and we already received that.
The acceptance letter also has "This is a notice of acceptance" in big fat font on the envelope. I spent about 15 minutes working up the courage to open it only to turn it over an see that plastered all over it.Got my letter today. I'm a new addition to the HOLD list. Le sigh. It's purgatory. The waitlist before the waitlist. But I've heard an acceptance letter is thick, so I was really discouraged when I got a skinny letter. I was happy to be on hold after that long walk back from the mailbox.
I had 3 friends who were accepted off the hold list last year. I wouldn't worry about it. I feel like worst case you're put high on the waitlist.Anyone from previous cycles of interviews hear anything? Anyone from hold get accepted?
Thanks for your comfort, man. It's just hard with the uncertainty, and not knowing where your fiance should apply to teach because you won't know where you are living, you know?I had 3 friends who were accepted off the hold list last year. That's tough man. I really hope you hear some good news soon. Thanks for your comfort, man. It's just hard with the uncertainty, and not knowing where your fiance should apply to teach because you won't know where you are living, you know?
man I feel you're pain. I'm in a very similar situation. I hope we hear something soon. Thanks for your comfort, man. It's just hard with the uncertainty, and not knowing where your fiance should apply to teach because you won't know where you are living, you know?
That I'm not sure about. I think one was for sure waitlisted and accepted off the waitlist. I want to say the other two were accepted later in the cycle...Were they eventually wait listed before being accepted or not?
Is anyone on this thread (accepted or still waiting) either married and/or a parent? I am married and have a two year old and will probably be starting at UTHSC in the fall. Looking for anyone with a similar experience.
How do you guys plan on making time for spouse/children in med school? I'm still debating whether my partner should move with me as I'm worried I won't have time for that let alone a kid...Same. One kiddo and married. I'm on hold right now.
Good luck! How old is your kid?Same. One kiddo and married. I'm on hold right now.
The best answer I can give is just to make the most of my time. It's certainly a concern, but I was working full time and in night school for premed courses when she was born so I have had a similar experience. It's worth the investment in the future, and when you have a family you learn the importance of focusing and prioritizing. How do you guys plan on making time for spouse/children in med school? doubt it. I got an interview pretty early and im 22.I got a secondary in September, but I haven't heard a peep since. After hearing about how some of you all are married/have kids, I'm wondering if my age is hurting me with UTHSC. I'll still be 21 when medical school starts in the fall.
8 months. Could be interesting come fall.Good luck! How old is your kid?
Nope, nothing here.anyone who is on hold hear back yet
