Thanks!! I think I'm considered IS in regards to admission because I went to highschool in Utah. (unfortunately no one promised me in-state tuition but that's what I'm hoping for!)
 
I think everyone can search that up on Facebook. Just type in "University of Utah School of Medicine Class of 2019" and I think everyone should be able to view the group.

True, but I don't know if you can see the other members of the group. But you can definitely check!

Right now there are 92 members of the group, a bunch of than added today. Some of them are faculty members.
This number might not be all accepted people, as I for example didn't add into the group until a month or so after getting the acceptance.

do you know anyone who got a call today? Did they make calls? If they did ..... spots are getting really limited.

Even though I have pretty much accepted that I am going to be rejected or waitlisted, every email I get causes a minor heart attack.

My guess is they aren't sure who has multiple acceptances and who will stay at the U. They are waiting to see how many spots they need to replace. This is especially big may 15 when we can only hold one of our acceptances.

You're wrong on multiple levels. They have to fill the class (send 122 offers) by March 15 aka basically this Friday. The multiple acceptance report has already gone out, so they are very sure who has multiple acceptances that may or may not stay at the U. We can only hold one acceptance on April 30, which is when wait-list movement will likely start.

I understand that jorjorswens had some misinformation, but you're response was a little abrupt. Everybody is on edge with the upcoming deadline, but there is no need to attack another poster and rip apart their post piece-by-piece in such a curt way. Maybe I am reading more tone than you intended.
 
One question: I interviewed back in September and at my interview they just said "March" for when we would likely hear. I heard from a classmate that interviewed in November and were specifically given March 15th as the date that we would know by, whether accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. Can anyone confirm?

See bolded part. There was no attack. Amad was just clearing up misinformation and providing support for it. Evidence-based posting. It is the new standard in forum posting lol.

Really I'm just trying to confirm what you said earlier in that it is most likely a reject or waitlist for those who haven't heard yet... since they need to fill the class in 4 days. But no, wasn't trying to attack... I actually feel 'thank you' would've been a more appropriate response from the upset squidman lol that colorado site is golden.

Pardon the misinterpretation. I usually don't see "You're wrong on multiple levels." as being a friendly response, but it appears I am hypersensitive.

Also, that Colorado site is hilarious.
 
Haha, I wasn't offended. I did a quick search and saw may 15th but that was years ago. I am not worried about Friday but I think that there will still be a little movement on the wait list if I am not accepted here. I wasn't trying to be offensive, just trying to calm some nerves of people that seemed a little stressed because they assumed rejection before the game is over.

Sounds pretty set then. Glad to see there is an end in sight, even if it ends up meaning bad news for me in the end- just let it be over!! Whatever happens this week, it's been a pleasure enduring this crazy process (a process that no pre-med can really ever fully understand), with all of you! Thanks for those who have given me advice, support, and thanks for the funny posts that made me laugh!
You are all going to be tremendous physicians, whether your acceptance comes this week or if your road in getting to medical school is a bit longer and harder than that of others. Good luck to all of us with wherever our varying school and career paths take us!

Here are my predictions for the week:
1) Mass acceptances Wednesday and Thursday. (The remaining 20 or so seats)
2) The purge on Friday.
 
Confirmed by a friend who works with admissions: 100+ acceptances have been extended so far. There are about 20 that are going to go out some time this week.

My biggest fear is the waiting list... I'd rather rejection come now than in July when I'm waiting to know whether I need to move across the country or not.

I feel you on that. If I get waitlisted, I am going to treat it like a rejection and keep prepping for next cycle. Where are you accepted if you don't mind me asking?

Same here.... Probably going to go look for apartments if I'm waitlisted.
