2014-2015 University of Vermont Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nope! My status is still the "we will review your file in the coming weeks." (OOS and end-of-alphabet last name if that matters at all haha!)
Haha same here for all! Glad I'm not the only one! Hopefully they'll get to us end-of-alphabet folks soon 🙂

My stomach shall be in knots....especially since they do reject post-interview 🙁 hoping for a waitlist at the very least

Also waitlisted. Will most likely withdraw soon though. Good luck to everyone!

How do wait lists work? They say they accept people every week off the wait list, but is that only if someone who was offered acceptance declines the offer?

For those waitlisted, what states are you from and what are your stats? (if you don't mind me asking).

Also, for anyone who has been small pooled, have you heard back either positive or negative news?

For those of you that interviewed 10/25 and were waitlisted--how did you find out? Email? I interviewed then as well and I'm wondering when/how I'll hear back.

They said that they'd announce decisions in both mid-November (early) and mid-December (late), and not to worry if you don't hear back in mid-November since that would mean that they just hadn't gotten to your file, yet. Also, from the II I had there, my portal status changed and then I received an email shortly after. My guess is that if we're in the early crowd we'll hear something this week or next week... it looks like they just finished the 10/18 interview decisions this week.

Wohoo, after waiting 12 weeks of not even being complete, my status changed to rejected.
Good luck y'all

Withdrew today after being small pooled. Good luck to everyone still in the running.

Do you mind if I ask when you submitted/when you were complete?
I'm not sure of the exact date I was complete, but I submitted 7/21 was at preliminary review for about 9ish weeks. I sat at received application for a couple of weeks.

Does the online applicant center specifically state if you are under preliminary review?

Mine still says that everything has been received/complete (and has since late august) and doesn't say if it is under preliminary review..

Interviewed 10/25, wait listed today :/

Hey! Congrats on at least hearing back (and not being rejected!). At my interview day they mentioned that they literally waitlist EVERYONE even if it's only for a few minutes/hours/days so don't be at all discouraged, it may just take them a little while to change your status 🙂

They changed their whole process this year, they aren't sure if there will be large wait list movements like previous years

Regardless, almost everyone still gets waitlisted immediately (source: the admissions director at my interview) and then they either stay waitlisted, get accepted, or get rejected. I'm not sure who said they don't know if there will be a lot of waitlist movement but they may have been referring to later on in the year (so maybe they will do a lot more quick acceptances at the beginning rather than later on).

Deleted-- question was answered.

Congrats to everyone on all the news thus far.

Does anyone know whether pre-II updates are accepted? I can't seem to find the information anywhere. Thanks!

I sent them in and they said they put them in my file, so I'm assuming yes.

Any accepted students get anything in the mail? I figured they would send something but so far nothing.

I haven't received anything, but going back to last year's thread, I don't think anyone received an acceptance packet until the spring time. However, I could be misremembering this!

Thanks for the positivity 😀 I sure hope for an acceptance!! Good luck to you as well!

Waitlisted from Florida, 3.3 cGPA, 31 MCAT. 😀 Well rounded extracurricular activities.

For those who have flown in/out for an interview, would it be cutting it too close to schedule a 5:15 pm flight out of BTV the day of my interview?

Thanks for any input

The airport is very close to UVM (about 10 minutes on 89) and (in my experience) is rarely incredibly busy to the point where you would need to arrive more than 30-45 minutes prior to boarding time. You may get out of the interview day a bit late but you should definitely be able to make a 5:15 PM flight.

Thanks Journalist. Very helpful to know

Received my II yesterday, pumped to return to Burlington and climb Camel's Hump again in the winter. Submitted 7/24, complete 9/26, small pooled 10/27.

Has anyone who submitted in mid August been moved to preliminary review yet? Going on 13.5 weeks...sigh

Nope, not yet. I sent an email a few days ago to ensure I had everything turned in, just in case they weren't moving it onto preliminary review for some reason.

Patience is a virtue, I suppose...

I submitted in August but didn't get my letters in until early September. I am still stuck on the "Your supplemental has been received..." message. sigh.

An admissions representative informed me that the application process to progress from complete to preliminary review is 12+ weeks currently.

Also I just got a status update! It now says my file is being reviewed by the Admissions Committee and I should hear from then in the "coming weeks"

My boyfriend and I were both accepted today 🙂 Interviewed on 10/25. Crying with happiness, relief and excitement since this is our first choice 🙂
Wow! That's really cool you were able to get in together. Congratulations!!! This is the happiest post I've ever seen on SDN!
