2014-2015 University of Vermont Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I submitted in August and am still not marked as complete. Status says "Your supplemental application has been received. Please note that it may take 6-8 weeks for all materials to be processed; at certain times of the year, it may take as many as 10-12 weeks. You should continue to periodically check on the status of your file through the Online Applicant Center. We appreciate your patience"!
16 weeks.
Checking my status weekly like a good girl.
Wonder if they truly appreciate how patient I've been?
+1

i'm just sad that they are already into feb interviews and i'm not sure if my application has even been reviewed. and when i contact them, they say "check your online status"...

FYI: I submitted my secondary on August 11 and I only entered preliminary review over the weekend.

Does anyone know the chances of receiving an interview after being "small-pooled"/how long it took to hear after getting small-pooled?

Not sure what the chances are, but I heard from them 2 weeks after being small pooled

submitted secondary August 17, still sitting at "has been received"

I recently submitted an update after being small-pooled ~10/8 and received this response:

"Right now the time for review is 12+ weeks and I imagine it will go into review within this time. Please continue to visit our web page at the link “Check Your Status” for updates"

I guess they still have a LOT of stuff to go through, so someone turn on the jets in this small pool, 'cause it looks like we're might be here awhile

II 12/1 for the 2/12 interview date. Had an interview here last March but was rejected. Loved the school so I decided to re-apply a second time!

So I just checked my portal and it says that my application has been reviewed and that I am "within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended."

Is this different from the small pool?

I think it definitely varies...I've been swimming in the small pool for over 2 months :meh:

It's going to take them 12+ weeks to review people in the small pool?

It definitely varies! I think I heard back within two weeks as well (I checked my status on a daily basis....), but I know that some people heard back after a week or more. Good luck!

Edit: small-pooled after two days under preliminary review, interview invite two weeks later

I'm noticing that most people stay as "complete" for super long, but when they get into prelim review, it's relatively quick for a decision (small pool) to be made. Has anyone been in preliminary review for a long time like me? I almost feel like they've reviewed me and aren't interested in small pooling me, so I've just stayed in preliminary review :-/

I was complete mid august. Almost four months at this point...

Secondary deadline is in less than a month. The rejections and status changes will come for the grey area folks after they see what the entire pool looks like.

So it goes.

Has anyone who interviewed on 11/1 heard back yet?

Congrats to everyone accepted so far! I can't explain how much I do not want to wait until Feb to hear back about my interview yesterday. Great group of interviewees though. By far the best I've seen thus far, we had a good time.

Those who interviewed 12/11: do any of you remember what day they said they would have their next committee meeting? I remember it was some date in January, but I was half asleep the entire interview day after getting in to vermont at 5am after my flight was cancelled due to snow.

Does anybody know approximately how many interview days there are at UVM and when the last is? My interview has come and gone but I have a few friends in the pool that are asking and they don't have accounts on SDN.

got offered an $80,000 scholarship today ($20,000/year renewable over 4 years)!!!!! the most amazing early christmas present ever

Congratulations!! How exciting 🙂. Did you receive news of your scholarship through email or snail mail?

that's amazing news regarding the scholarship! Out of state?

Doing my regular check in on this thread - 19 weeks at supplementary materials received and counting! Digging in until the spring thaw.

I do not know when the last interview day is but I know that there are 12 days total

Any answer on this?

Guys I received an email from admissions saying I got an 80,000 dollar scholarship. Is this a common thing for someone who is out of state?

From what they stated during the financial aid session, only about 10-15% of the class will receive a merit scholarship. Congratulations!!! Did you just receive this e-mail today? Just in time for Christmas 🙂.
