Anyone interview nov 12 or after and get a status update after the survey yet? Sorry I've been asking everyone when they interviewed like a madman. Just curious

Thanks! I was complete 10/13. I selected 12/08 (I think 12/02 was the earliest available to me). How was your interview experience?
 
Rejected pre-interview today. Complete in late august. 3.8 cGPA 30 MCAT OOS. MAY status on 11/24. Oh well, win some, lose some.

It was awesome. Low stress and very relaxed and conversational interview.

Sorry🙁 good luck with the rest of the cycle. Just thought about the fact that happened on a holiday. I know the school was closed.
 
anyone know what further status means? is it generally more or less optimistic than "may" statuses?

That is yet to be determined. Some say 'May' is better, but aren't sure if it is or not.

I interviewed the 13th and have only gotten the survey so far.
 
Received the famous may status today (curious that I got it on a Sunday)-

The committee's file review indicates that they are interested in your candidacy. However, due to the increase in the applicant pool this year, it is clear we MAY be unable to interview all the candidates at your priority score.​

This seems like good news- or at least better news than being rejected already. If VCU was a girl, it would be like her saying to me "yeah, you're cute, but there are several other guys I'm interested in too. If I'm not happy with what I find, I've got your number." Hey, at least VCU thinks I'm cute!
 
Got the MAY status as well today. FWIW, I was switched from the short complete status to the long complete status last week.

It's happening all over the VCU medschool website. I think they are redoing it or something. Nothing critical there though.

I interviewed the 10th, and am still on the survey status if that's helpful.

I wouldn't read too far into the "further" or "may" status differences - I received the further status and was offered an interview like 3 days later.

Same here, I went from further to interview in 3 days.
 
this wait is killing me - waiting for that 6:30 mark to see if we finally get adcom post interview, anyone else??
 
3.55 cGPA, 3.43 sGPA, 31 MCAT (10/11/10). 8 years of military service, 2 years of firefighter/EMT experience, publication, worked all the way through college, complete 8/17.

No news from VCU. I guess medical school admissions is far more competitive than I realized. I really thought I would get an interview 🙁

You should, but probably because of OOS. Hopefully you do!

What is this short complete vs long complete status that you mentioned? As of now, I have

Your M.D. file is now complete. The Admissions Committee will now do a comprehensive review of your application. Once the review is complete, your file will be prioritized, and interviews will be granted based on your priority score and the date your file was completed. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates. Please continue to read all paragraphs below.

I submitted secondary September 6

I don't remember the exactly wording, but it was something like, "your md file is now complete. It will be forwarded to the admissions committee for review." It's only a couple of lines long.

I actually had the long complete status at first, then the short one, then the long one, and now the MAY status. I'm trying not to pay TOO much attention to this stuff until I actually (if ever) get an II.
 
Hi everyone, so I had my interview on Nov 24th and I still haven't even gotten a post interview survey status update (not the post interview hold update. I would imagine it would be weeks before that happens).

For those who interviewed, how long did it take for you to even get the status change email for the survey? Should I contact the admissions office? Or is this simply due to last week being Thanksgiving?

It took me like a week and half. From what I can tell it took up to three weeks for some applicants, and some got it the next day. I'd say don't worry about it.

Yeah seems like they do it in batches on certain dates, so it just depends when you interviewed and when they send them out. Don't sweat it.

Also, I know this is a (really) long shot, but does anyone know if we've got a chance of hearing back by the 12/15 decision release date, or will we have to wait until February?

Don't quote me, but I think on last years (or the year before that) thread that you should be considered for the 12/16 date.

Unless the file reviewer or your interviewer can't make the following Monday meeting, then you would be pushed to the following decision date.

I believe you can be as long as your interviewer attends the meeting, and gets a chance to discuss your file. You'll know if you're up for consideration if you get the post-interview hold prior to the offer date. I was in a similar situation here where my interview date was a few days before the October offer date. Not up for consideration until December.
 
Yay post interview hold status today! It's weird how some people got them on monday and I just got mine today..
 
well that was swift... rejected today, "forwarded to committee" status 11/29. Submitted secondary 8/28, OOS, LizzyM~71

Does anyone know which day the admission committee meets to discuss post-interview files? I see some say Mondays but some from last year's thread say Fridays. :thinking:
Please let me know if you heard about it on your interview day this year. Thanks!
