:woot: Me! My decision date got pushed back one month so I'm extra anxious! Wayne is my top choice so hoping for good news. Good luck 🙂
wait..why did it get pushed a month? was it just you or the whole group?

Just me. Something must have came up and my interviewer wasn't able to make it to the committee meeting so they couldn't make a decision for the last date.

I asked because the admissions lady mentioned that they would get back in november but there is a small chance they would get back in December...

good luck to all of you waiting!
my interview is next week... gotta start prepping
can anyone who's interviewed provide some tips? thanks!

I'm getting so antsy... Haha when did you interview? I was on 10/27. I am so badly hoping for good news--this is my third time applying to med schools.
i interviewed last week. I hope my interviewer has time to meet the committee before november 26!

Yea. I think they try their best to get you in by the next decision date, but the small chances are that things come up and sometimes they can't review your app by then. Good luck 🙂

talked to admissions today to confirm if they recieved my update letter and thank you note. I was notified that today they are having the committee meeting(currently happening now) and I could call in around 3pm to check if I was presented and reviewed today!!!!!

Oh man.. I'm too nervous to call and find out later today... I think I need to just wait to hear from them on Wednesday. Good luck to you and to anyone else on here waiting to find out this week!

I dont think they would tell the decision over the phone(security and privacy concerns) but they could tell you if you were reviewed as an applicant by the committee

Do they release all decisions at 2 or they start rolling out sooner?

Alternate listed as well 🙁 My interviewer loved me too and made comments that I was an extremely qualified applicant. Really disappointed. Wayne is my top choice.

The same thing literally just happened to me! I was supposed to find out today but I won't find out until December 23rd! I will either have the best Christmas ever, or I'll have the worst Christmas ever.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. I know the wait is going to be killer but hang in there!

I have a theory it may have potentially been a blessing if being pushed back a decision date means that I was up for review first when more spots are open for the current decision date. But that's just me guessing and trying to just rationalize how I finally got into med school haha. Best of luck to you!

For those that are going to have their interviews, do NOT worry. I was so freaked out, because I hadn't really had any practice for it. I had Wayne, MSUCHM, and MSUCOM (DO/PhD) all within a week. It was not bad at any of the programs! They were all very relaxed and truly wanted to get to know the student. It seemed more like they were just trying to get a picture of your personality so when they present you to the admissions committee they have a better understanding of who you are as a person, opposed to what people put on paper. It was kind of awesome at WSU SOM! The students were really funny, the interview went by so fast! It was scheduled for an hour, and mine lasted almost two!!! We just kept talking and when he realized what time it was he said, "Sooo...I'm not sure what they're going to do for the tour for you, but we will get it worked out." Of course, I said, "I'm sorry I talked so much! I didn't even realize what time it was!" He replied, "Oh don't apologize, we set a time, but we all understand that sometimes to better understand people, we need to ask a lot of questions, and this can in turn open it up to a lot of conversation!" The time really does fly by! I just can't wait until I can find out.

Here's the thing that really drew me in about the program:
You actually get to do dissections, instead of having just prosections of the anatomy you learn.
You don't have to buy A SINGLE TEXTBOOK FOR ANY CLASS!!! They have coursepacks with all of the materials that every student gets as part of the tuition money, but for the students who are interested in the textbook itself, they have all of the textbooks in the library you can check out to read the chapters!!!

Sorry for the extra information, and the long message about the interview and blah blah blah. As you can see I'm just a little excited for this program! 🙂
I'm hoping to hear good things!

For those that have interviewed, what did you like/not like about the interview day? Did you have anything that really stood out to you!?

The only downside to my interview date was how cold it was. By the time I got to the door to go into the school, my face was bright red, my nose was running, my hands were purple, and my eyes were watering so badly it made me look like a raccoon! lol

Agree with everything you've said. Interview day was extremely stress free. Interview was very casual and the interviewer never put me on the spot. Questions were all based on my application and it was very clear that he thoroughly read my application and just wanted to get to know me better more as a person and learn more details to present me as best he could to the committee review. The medical campus is huuuge!

Very excited about coming here in August!

@Final_stretch_med - Sounds like your interview went very well - Hoping you hear great news come Christmas time 🙂

Thank you! I am happy that they pushed it back though instead of letting someone else who didn't interview me present my application to the committee. They really wouldn't be able to advocate for me nearly as well as the interviewer.

Again, thank you so much! I'm hoping for the good news too so that I will be able to meet you in August! 🙂

Good luck to you all..I am still in awe of my acceptance..first one and i can't believe it. I wish you all good luck !!!

To those that have been accepted, is there anything we need to do to hold our spot. The email I received pretty much just said I got in?

If you've been waiting for more than 3 months post-secondary for an II. Is it safe to say it's a silent rejection?

How many days after getting the acceptance email can we expect the admissions package?

I haven't heard anything since I submitted my secondary 3 months ago. Do you guys think it is a good idea to send an update letter pre-II?

PS: I got a first author publication since my secondary.

yes that's a huge update. i've got one in the works right now as well and plan to submit to schools that i've been waitlisted/haven't heard back from

Anyone moved off of the waitlist yet?
