You have absolutely no clue about what Detroit is like, what may or may not be safe, etc. I really am starting to wonder if your barely coherent postings are an elaborate troll. I'm loath to even engage you/this post, but I will because I don't want this to deter other qualified candidates. As for you, go to some other school - you obviously don't want to be here. But please stop spewing your incorrect assumptions about the school and surrounding area.
Nearly everything you said is completely wrong. I lived about 2 blocks away from studio one for about 3 years and routinely came and left at late hours including walking by myself (yes I am male, but you will regularly see women walking alone at night in the area immediately around the med school/DMC) either coming home late from um...studying or going to work at 3-4am on surgery. I never once felt unsafe and also knew that the WSU police average a 90 second response time, but often get there more quickly than that. The area is also patrolled by (armed, mostly ex-military) DMC police as well, so you essentially have 3 police forces patrolling the area: Detroit Police, WSU PD, and DMC Police. I also parked my car (gasp) on the street for all of those 3 years. It wasn't touched once. Granted it wasn't a Porsche and I was careful to not leave obvious valuables in the back seat, but I had 0 problems and never once saw any of the many other cars parked on my block touched.
I'm not sure about what "late night clubs because that is where all the troubles is [sic] lots of shooting in night club [sic]" but the bars frequented by students and young professionals have 0 problems. Hopcat, Union Street, Bronx, Motor City Brewing, Atwater, Bookie's, Rub Pub, Sugar House, Detroit City Distillery, Two James, etc etc etc. are all completely safe and you will have no problems if you go to any of them.
As for Studio One and UTowers, yes they are generally pretty s***ty apartment complexes. But I have news that might come as a major surprise to you:
there are other places to live in and around Detroit. If you see an apartment complex you don't like... go find a different one before you sign a lease. There are even -gasp- apartments available in the suburbs from which you can commute if you want to bring your outdated views about crime in and around Midtown with you to school. Even though violent crime rates in Midtown are about the same as many of those suburbs.
About the only thing sensible that you said is "Just have common sense..." that is true and is true in any city. Yes, Detroit is not SF/NYC. I have no starry-eyed notions of that. There are neighborhoods that are truly blighted and dangerous (East side, parts of Northwest Detroit) - the ED thoracotomy for multiple gun shot wounds that I was a part of last night at Sinai Grace is a testament to that fact. But those areas are NOT the same as the Midtown/Downtown/Corktown corridor that now has crime rates at or below the national average, and that corridor is where you will be spending essentially all of your time in.
And finally, don't take my word for it. I'll leave you with this particularly apropos piece:
