Looking at last years thread it seemed their cycle winded down in mid-March with a lot of waitlists going out around the beginning of April. Small sample size though and I'm sure not everyone who applies to UConn is on SDN. Maybe give them a call?

I'm predicting a lot of waitlist decisions being sent out this week. 🙁 Would have loved to go here.

I talked to someone who interviewed recently and they were told that the interview season was just about done with the last interviews being conducted at the end of March.

I believe the committee met today or is meeting this week so those interviewed in the past month or so should probably be hearing back.🙂

Alternate Status yesterday. Was anybody designated the high-alternate status? They did that last year...

Called Admissions and they said they would rank the alternate list by May 1 and then inform applicants of status then

So should we not expect the next round of decisions for another month? Interviewed the first week of March and was under the impression that we'd hear early April and not later.

in state rejection stung. bye thread. good luck all.

Do they tell you if you're on the "high alternative list" in their initial waitlist email?

No, the email said they had not reviewed all applicants yet so they could not specify a rank. It seems like ranking has come out early-mid May in the past but you could always email/call to check on that.

We have until the 30th to withdraw and still get deposits back, right? Are we supposed send admissions an email because I can't find anything on the portal about withdrawing...

Also just received high alternate status from UConn. I'm excited, but does anyone know if this is a good sign and what rough percentage of students are accepted from high alternate? This is top choice for me!

Based on reading some older threads, it seems like in the past they have accepted 1/2 to 2/3rds of the "high alternate" portion of the list. But if they are "oversubscribed" then this may not be the case. Let's hope they're not!

@Insomniacmom90 can you possibly PM me what your high priority email said? I'm trying to figure out if mine was worded the same way.
Sorry, I think my post was somewhat misleading. My email was the generic "high alternate" notification. A friend who applied a couple years back and was waitlisted was told by admissions that the class was "oversubscribed" and they didn't expect much movement off the waitlist. It seems that UConn over accepts some years. I'm hoping that's not the case this year as I'd love to go there!

Anyone receive their refund yet?

Accepted off the high alternate list yesterday! I am likely withdrawing though since I'm all set to move out of state. Just wanted to say that there is waitlist movement 🙂

Congrats! I guess UConn is starting early this year! Were you notified via email or a phone call?

got a high alternate email few days ago. I am really hoping for an acceptance here! Uconn is my top choice. I am not sure if I should call the office for more details or should I just wait it out.

I tried to get more information from admissions beyond my "high alternate" status and I was told that they won't provide a rank number.

So you think I should just wait it out?
It wouldn't hurt to call, to express your continued interest but if you've already done that (or sent an update/LOR) then I doubt they'll tell you anything new. UConn's a top choice for me as well so I feel your pain. It sucks waiting!
