So I have my interview this Friday in Chicago. Does UIC send out any information beforehand? Or do I just show up at the time?
My interview was in Peoria, but all I had to do was show up on time - I think the time/place you're supposed to show up is on the website under 'interview day' or something

Just got an II about thirty minutes ago! So excited! Looks like the offices closed juuuusssst as I was dialing, so I left a voicemail with my desired date/time.

Does anyone know if there's any chance that cancellations at previously booked time slots would allow for other applicants to snag them?

Nice! When were you complete and what's your LizzyM, if you don't mind me asking?

Definitely. The online portal for scheduling is pretty unreliable imo, so I would just check in with them regularly to see what spots are open and if any have opened up.

Yeah, when I called just a little bit ago to lock it in, the date I wanted was filled despite the online grid having openings. Hardly a problem, though. Here's to hoping there are cancellations, but an II at UIC is an II at UIC, so definitely no complaints here.

Is anyone else able to access the links within the "College Info" tab of my.UIC?

When I click on "Review Links", "Review Resources", or "Review Welcome", it generates an error message saying "You are not authorized to view this channel"....lol

Congrats on the interview! For Chicago, the send out an email the day before your interview that simply restates the info they've given you before.

Did anyone else have trouble setting up their my.UIC portal? I just tried to set mine up and it told me that my netID activation was complete and that my password was set. and then i did the claim enterprise ID part. but when I try to login, it is telling me that my password or username is invalid.

Did anyone else have a similar problem to this?

I'm also having a lot of trouble with the my.UIC portal, such links that open as errors, although the login/pass I set up do work. Anyone else having similar problems? Just wondering...

When were you complete? My portal still says applicant in progress. Congrats, btw!

See, I never really received an official "Complete/you're all good" email (did anyone?), but the last thing on my portal came in 9/24, which was my August MCAT, so that's what I'm going with.

And thank you! Here's to some good news your way as well.

So, I asked this a while ago and didn't get much of a response, but is anyone else an RMED applicant? I know that they are supposed to be evaluating those applications sometime soon and I was wondering if anyone else is anxiously awaiting an II. . . basically I am looking for some company in my misery LOL
I am also a RMED applicant. Mark Meurer told me he would be in contact with me early December to discuss an interview!

Did anyone who interviewed in Peoria end of October hear back yet?

Congrats on your interview! Are you IS or OOS?

I interviewed there at the end of October but I am still decision pending.
Yeah I'm convinced they just didn't review end of October Peoria interviews yet (and did review the Chicago ones that happened after us). Let's hope we get some love next week!

Did you talk to anyone else that interviewed with us? Or are you just basing this on the two of us?

The posts here of people that got accepted mostly didn't specify their interview location.

II earlier today scheduled for February, OOS!! I hope my chances aren't too much worse being that I'll be interviewing so late in the season...but honestly just thrilled to be past the whole "applicant/application in progress/process" nightmare

Congrats! What was your complete date?

Just sent my email to withdraw. That means there's going to be an interview slot open first week of January in Chicago. READY SET GO!

Good luck y'all.

Is there a reason I wouldn't have heard back from UIC since I'm in state? I have gotten Interview Invites from other state schools I applied to in the midwest. I was complete mid August. That in state tuition tho

Hey guys, I interviewed in Peoria end of October as well (hi we probably met) and I received my acceptance the weekend after Thanksgiving. Here's hoping for you guys!

Does this school inform applicants if they are on hold/waitlist? It's been 2.5 months since my interview and I haven't heard a peep.

Hey everyone, to those of us waiting in purgatory, better known as "applicant in progress," I called admissions today and got some info:
  • Admissions will only be interviewing into March
  • Interview dates are currently booked through February 19th
  • "Applicant in process" means that the system is being updated (this is why some people's statuses have changed from progress to process and then back to progress)
I hope this helps. Good luck to us all.

In-state II the other day, was "in progress" for what felt like an eternity and then "in process" for about three weeks. This is my top choice school! Keep that faith alive if you've been waiting awhile! :luck:

Lol womp womp, there goes that theory.

So you're saying that if it currently says "Applicant in Process" it's likely due to an update and the review process hasn't started?! Thanks for the info!

Thank you SO much!
I was accepted on 11/28 and was seeing that all these people had other tabs and information that I didn't have yet so I started to get nervous. I will definitely keep an eye out for the mail. And just to be sure.... the email is what tells you how to set up the portal at my.uic.edu ..? Thanks!
Yeah! Except now someone just said that the placement in that portal might not be your actual placement, so I guess you have to wait for a letter in the mail to be sure.

Thanks! I got the letter a few days ago. Thankfully because I have been trouble getting in to my.uic account so without the letter id still be floating in no mans land hahaha

Interviewing here next month (Chicago campus) - does any one mind sharing advice for the interview? Any help would be appreciated!

Post-interview rejection letter in the mail yesterday :dead:, but along with it I received an invite to apply for their post bacc program. I'm definitely getting in touch with the college and turning in my materials this week. No idea my odds for this, but here's hoping for the very best!

Sorry to hear about that =( Are you in-state?

Well, not exactly. "Applicant in Process" sounds as though the review of your app has started and someone is writing notes on your file. But, that is just a theory. 🤔:eyebrow:

That's great about the post-bacc. Does the program guarantee you an interview with the College of Medicine the following year or a seat in the next class?

Would you mind listing your stats? I'm IS and have been in progress for over 4 months =(

Stats are definitely unimpressive, though i'd argue my position in the application process is definitely due in good part to being IS/URM. I'm completely on the idea that UIC judges applicants holistically, as my stats aren't on par with most applicants but I want to say my character and ideals shone through which i'm pretty damn happy about.

It guarantees a seat following successful program completion. It's a great opportunity imo since I definitely intend to go to UIC, but i'm worried because it says I have to compete for a seat. As to how stiff the competition is, I honestly don't know or if they meant competition through the regular med school admission? Here's a link to the program http://www.uicmeduhp.org/sites/www.uicmeduhp.org/files/assets/UIC COM PAP Flyer.pdf

I'm going to the college this week though to fill out the app and talk with the staff for some advice. Here's hoping for the best, and again i'll keep up to date on SDN.

Did you application status change, or are you still decision pending?

You might want to get there a little early. Parking (if you're driving) and the building can be a little confusing. Overall it was pretty standard so yea. Oh and the tour does take you outside so if it's cold take your jacket. (they have a closet you can put it in)

I've been "Applicant in Process" since the end of September. Anyone else in the same boat? Is this just a silent rejection?

I've been applicant in progress since August.... does anyone know if there have been any pre II rejections? It seems like in previous years it occurred during the last week of November, but I don't know if they have given pre II rejections this year..

Wrong thread LOL oops sorry for the confusion.
