I think it's pretty disrespectful to people waiting on their toes, to deliver unreliable information like that.. considering amount of posts they post and attention they pay to here..

Yes, this threw me off a bit. I understand keeping things private for the higher ups to prevent disorganization and all, but this just comes off as lack of transparency.

Did yours have "Final Decision made on 4-25-16..." Mines have "Final decision made on. Please allow..." They didn't post a date, I wonder if that glitch means anything. I didn't have additional correspondence either.
 
Additional Correspondence! Will likely not be attending though, for reasons that have nothing to do with how much I loved the school.

Hi everyone, especially fellow decision pending applicants! I have been decision pending since early December and I too cri evertiem. Not much else to say, I just decided to publicly join my fellow decision pending applicants because I am reallyyyyyyy trying to be a good person and fight my internal bitterness but it's getting a little hard haha. I have my fingers crossed for all of us!

Mines didn't have a date. Although it indicated "final decision was made on." . I was wondering what that meant.

So, if UPR is your first choice, you could either have Peoria or Rockford as I, and then the other as II, and then Chicago has to be III. If you rank Chicago as I, then Rockford and Peoria are II or III.

In interviewed 3/2X and my portal is still "Decision Pending" so this is not the case.

During my interview Girotti said decisions would be made well before April 30 and would be communicated to us by email rather than snail mail, along with the option to pick campus electronically. Let's just say it hasn't turned out that way lol...
 
They said there would be an option to pick a campus online? I mean, isn't that sort of a blatant lie?

However, with the multiple acceptance deadline approaching quickly there may be some Chicago spots opening up. I have a friend who has been accepted at multiple schools one of which being UIC -CHICAGO site & they are giving up their spot. There are probably others giving up their Chicago spots. I know a lot of out of state applicants choose other places because of the high COA. So there is still a chance. Good luck everyone!

From what I remember (3/25) the Dean said that they had never done it before but they would try to do acceptance notices and campus selection through email for us so that we would have ample time come April 30. Key word being try...

Why does UIC use such an outdated system? I don't know of any other school that makes you call to schedule an interview and communicates by mail...

Dude, I've spent the last 9 months wondering the exact same thing. It's completely pointless. Did you know that the status page tells you to use at least Netscape 6.2, which was released in 2002? This implies that they've used the same bloody system for the last 14 years...
 
Never got anything after secondary...
and on portal today -
"A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."
Reject???

Yeah right? They said they're going to try doing an online campus selection thing to speed things up. I guess, looking back now, it was kind of foolish to believe it lol

Can anyone explain what is happening on April 30th vs. May 15th? Which is the date you can only have one acceptance? I've read both.

April 30th. Technically May 2nd since April 30th is a weekend.

I am so mad I had to wait over a week for my acceptance letter and now people are getting them by email.
 
So I wonder if we'll continue to see portal updates today, or if there won't be any more till Thursday/Friday. Or if the committee is even meeting on Thursday.

-There will be no more meeting this week because they already met (last Thurs or this Mon).
-All applicants will know their results by this week (accept/waitlist/reject).

The real question is.. will there be any more acceptances this week (after yesterday)? or will everyone who still sees"decision pending" get automatically put on the waitlist (with few rejects)?
 
I got an email too. It says:

The attached letter is being mailed to you, but I wanted to make sure you were aware of this decision as soon as possible.

Edit: Has anyone who got accepted yesterday get the "Fat packet" yet? How long does it typically take?

Same email. Just definitely need to find out where I'd potentially end up.
 
Did everyone who's getting an email get a portal update yesterday?
 
This may be way too late, but are there any notices about late UMED/IMED,etc interviews? Girotti said we could email the application to them late since I interviewed past the deadline, but I haven't heard anything back from them...

Umed sent me a rejection letter yesterday.... I was pretty bummed but everything happens for a reason interviewed after the deadline as well and I applied before I knew I was accepted. I think they are done conducting interviews for Umed
