2015-2016 University of Michigan Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congratulations !! stats if you don't mind. Thanks
Thank you! And don't mind at all. 31, 3.9 GPA, extensive EC's and speak multiple languages (not sure if schools actually take this into account...something I've been wondering about). Went to Michigan for undergrad.

If we haven't received a pre-II rejection, does that mean we are still being considered? I know schools differ regarding when they send out pre-interview rejections.

It's not likely we are still being considered (especially if you've been complete for >1 month). UM does not do pre-II rejection until the end of the season.

Pre-II (in state) rejection today via email. Best of luck to everyone else applying to this fantastic school!!

what dates are still available for interview? Thanks

wow, they're likely done giving out interviews? Sad, I was under the impression we're only 65% or so through app cycle but guess not.

Also admissions tracker is having tech issues showing updated status of your file, it said I need to complete my secondary, but I just called to confirm that my file is complete. The applicant portal is what gives you an accurate update.

Chances of an interview: oos. 510, 3.92C, 3.86S...give up hope? Completed Secondary end of Oct.

Don't give up hope. Have been hearing that OOS interviews are being canceled like flies. They'll be scheduling interviews until the end of January.

I hope some of those interviews go to Instate candidates. They have been giving way too less IIs to Michiganders.

Don't think the # of IS interviewees will change much. They try to have a class that is half IS and the other OSS and they have to give a lot more OOS acceptances to get that very proportion.

I'm sitting on an acceptance to what I thought was my dream school, but after doing some research, this school is pulling me in. Plus it's in my home state! Are my chances very slim with such a late interview?

Congratulations on the acceptance from your Dream school ! If I wasn't sure about the interview , i would turn it down, so some other candidate who is eagerly waiting for a II could get it.

If you're at all interested in the school then you owe it to yourself to go to the interview! You have to make sure that you go to the school that is the right fit for you. It's so great that you got into your dream school, and maybe after all that will turn out to be the right fit, but it doesn't hurt to see somewhere else! Either way, congratulations!

That is not what he should do. He says he has interest in the school in his comment. He should attend the interview and to say otherwise seems disingenuous.

@prayer525 I am definitely interested in this school. I think the reason I didn't research or consider Michigan is because it was one of my reach schools and I didn't know if I would get an interview.

@lilyhgt and @Ochemphd trust me... I WILL be attending the interview at all cost. It's MICHIGAN!!! I'm so excited that I am even considered. Thanks for the congrats too guys. I feel such joy to have the privilege of being accepted to any medical school. I hope you guys have success this cycle too!!

To Deferred Applicants: Some of us should be hearing back probably on the 16th next week, that's historically when they've accepted deferred applicants.

On my interview day they said we would hear back December 15th. I think that's just a date they set to release the next batch of acceptances but I'm not sure what if it applies to deferred applicants.

Mhm, it's usually a day after the November batch of acceptances are released.

Waitlisted. Darn, I felt I interviewed pretty well here

So sad, waitlisted. Sigh, Buckeye I will be. Go Blue anyway.
