Not to be a spreadsheet need, but I've been tracking these dates and it seems most schools were a couple weeks behind last year's schedule, likely due to time spent analyzing the new MCAT. I'm guessing we hear about the first round of UTSW invites this week or next!

If they don't send out invites tomorrow I will probably have a heart attack due to the anticipation....

Well not sure why UTSW still hasn't extended any IIs. They are really behind the ball this year.
Anyone know what the hold up is and when we should expect some updates?

Your guess is as good as mine, but I think they probably do the most rigorous application review. They are the flagship school in the UT System and they probably know from experience that they will get more or less their pick of the litter so to speak. I think that, combined with the MCAT 2015 delays, probably accounts for their being the last school to give out IIs. Then again, maybe they just suck, but I don't think so. I think UTMB does a cursory review, goes mostly on raw scores, and that speeds them up considerably. I think the others are somewhere in between.
 
I am completely done with this secondary, but I haven't submitted it yet. I am waiting for my TMDSAS app to get verified. Can I submit my secondary before my primary app gets verified or should I wait until my app gets verified and then submit my secondary?

Some schools do not mind if you send in the secondary first (Baylor) others will dismiss your application (Mayo). Just call admissions and they will have an answer for you.

I submitted my secondary before my TMDSAS was verified. Haven't seen anything unusual, got my verification email and all. Definitely would not hurt to call if you are in the least bit hesistant.

I would just call, but seeing as how they don't seem to have invited anyone yet, it seems unlikely that they would start just for you. Still, it doesn't seem like it could hurt to try.
 
Any predictions for II? Were they only released on Fridays last year?

I just submitted my secondary application a couple of days ago and my MCAT was finally attached. I am praying for the Best. Good Luck to all!
 
Does anyone know how the UTSW admissions committee looks at SMP programs? My undergrad GPA is a 3.3 for both sci and cumulative. However, the last 65 hours of my undergraduate courses averaged a 3.75 and my SMP GPA will be around a 3.9 @ 35 credit hours. I also published two papers since applying last year and patented a medical device. Do ya'll think it will matter that i've made major improvements and have a track record of success or will my application be put in the waste bin because of the Ugrad GPA?

I previously visited UTSW and met a bunch of MS2s (now MS3s), and they told me there's free food almost every day (I didn't even ask, they used it as a way to convince me to come to UTSW).

Let's just say I've been getting free food everyday since we started last week and I'm not talking just box lunches. Some days I got chikfila and brisket sandwiches. Yesterday we got burgers cause of student appreciation day. Yea.... UTSW loves their students
 
Do they send you a confirmation if your app is complete? I submitted my secondary a week after my primary and I only got a secondary received email.

I received 2 emails, one stating that they received my primary app, the other the secondary.
 
II last night!

This might be dumb...but for those of y'all that got interviews, how did you confirm/change the date? When I click on the link in the email for MyGateWay, it takes me to my secondary application and not an interview confirmation page.

Right on the page you see a tab for interview.
 
Will applicants who do not attend the Friday sessions be disadvantaged in any way. Not sure if I can take two days off work, but I don't want to seem uninterested in the school if the interviewers ask me how was my experience on Friday.

Click on MyGateWay, then you'll see 4 buttons, thebottom button is "My Interview" click on it and you'll have all the options.

Nah not at all. The Friday portion is only really if you wanna see the hospital which you'll see during MS0 day anyway if you get in.
