Southwestern - it makes a difference when you attend interview - the earlier the better.
That helps make my decision easier.I think you will see plenty of what UTSW has to offer without going to Friday rounds. They'll take you on a couple of hospital tours on the regular interview day as well. I didn't do Friday rounds so I can't speak super knowledgeably but I felt like I had seen more than enough to know that UTSW was awesome with just the regular interview day. Additionally, I would say it is always a good call to interview as early as possible unless the school is totally non-rolling admissions.
Anyone know how long UTSW's review process is after the interview? Not sure if I should expect to hear on the 15th if I interviewed mid-Oct.

Wondering the same for early November interview
The admissions committee meets at intervals throughout the rest of the application season to "rank" applicants based on their entire file (app+interview). Those at the top will get offers first, and they will keep going down the list until all of their 200 seats are filled. Some students will choose to go elsewhere, opening up more seats, and then more offers will go out for those seats. In the end, I believe they will have sent out ~360 offers. So basically offers go out in a rolling fashion in chunks and your position on their ranking list will dictate if/when you get an acceptance. I don't think they will actively reject anyone. They just pick from the pool.
Ahhhh congrats!!!ACCEPTED!!! Via TMDSAS Pre-match offer withdrawal portal!
I am in the same boat. However, I had a quick question. What if you are hoping to go UTSW, but you got a prematch acceptance at another school? Can you accept it and wait for an acceptance from UTSW? Or do I have to decline the acceptance? Also, if I do accept it, would other schools know about my acceptance?
does UTSW have half days? If not, what does a typical school day look like?
When I applied 4 years ago: Beginning sometime in April schools that had accepted an applicant were able to see where else that applicant had been accepted. Otherwise that information was not available to them. I would scour the AAMC website to see what the current policy is. Texas schools may have an additional way of communicating amongst each other because beginning sometime in June the they have a gentleman's agreement not to accept students who are already accepted at other Texas schools. Thanks for the quick reply! Are other schools aware of where you accept?
The current preclinical schedule is available online: https://utsouthwestern.mrooms3.net/course/index.php?categoryid=103. Admittedly it is difficult to read, but yes in general there are 1-2 afternoons off per week for the first 6 months. For the next 12 months there should more afternoons off because there are fewer labs (labs like anatomy, histology, pathology were usually in the afternoon).does UTSW have half days? If not, what does a typical school day look like?
Yes, there is an official second look offered to all accepted recruits - I remember it being earlier than second looks at most other schools, in February (although I didn't go). I don't know what the mechanism for unofficial second looks but I would bet if you reached out to admissions they would hook you up with something.Does UTSW do second look?
+1I'm oos and didn't get accepted. Should I assume I can't hear back until the match day or whatever in February now?
+2 if anyone could comment, that would be great!+1
I, too, am curious about how this process will work for an OOS student.
