2015-2016 University of Toledo Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone know how many people Toledo interviews? And then the percentage of those that get accepted?
When I went to the interview, there were only 9 people interviewing that day and they said they do interviews every Thursday and Monday. Not sure if 9 is typical, but I suppose you could multiply that by the number of weeks they are interviewing. The class size is 175, and I was told that since it's a state funded school, they take around 75% instate.

According to MSAR, they interview 539 total, with 364 of those coming from in state.

for those of you who interviewed did they give post interview acceptance rate stats?
Just booked my hotel for 11/5 interview, hope to see some of you there!!

I'm an M1, but last year I believe they accepted about 2 out of every 3 interviewees.

interviewing here next week! Are the interviews conducted by students and faculty? hope to see some of you there 🙂

In reference to your interview question, one of mine was a vascular surgeon and the other was an M2

So we literally just started anatomy this week, but I'll try my best to give you some idea. The first 10 weeks of M1 are biochemistry. Then anatomy goes from end of Oct to end of Feb. It is gross anatomy, micro anatomy, histology, and embryology all mixed into one. They also teach you radiology as they go along. For example, we are learning the back this week, and will have a lecture on radiology of the back on Friday. They also seem to be incorporating a little pathology in with the lectures, but I think for the most part right now they want to focus on normal anatomy. Hope that helps.

yes, thanks!

After some complex subtraction and long division along with countless hours of exhausting mathematics, I have calculated that Toledo accepts 32% of all interviewees, 25% of OOS interviewees, and 36% of IS interviewees. I am going to publish my findings and hopefully garner the attention of whoever it is that gives out Nobel Prizes, because this Shirley is worthy of worldwide recognition.

I am skeptical.

Those receiving interview invites - when were you complete? I was complete 8/13 and I'm IS. Hoping for an interview invite soon!

Nevermind. I forgot they accept more than the class size of 175 to account for those who decline admission. More like twice that, at least 300; so yes what mbeus said above about 2/3 is correct. Anxiety and anticipation are eating my brain...

AHHHH!!! Accepted!
Secondary received 7/2/15
Secondary turned in 7/7/15
II 8/31/15
Interview 9/28/15
Accepted 10/21/15
GPA 3.2
MCAT 510
Hi, I am new to this forum, can you or someone tell me what is II? and please tell me the link to latest Lizzy M ? (any 2015?) Thanks.

Interview Invitation. When was your secondary application complete, and have you received an II yet? Thanks!

I interviewed October 8th and still haven't heard back. I'm practically pulling my hair out in anticipation :arghh:

Accepted on 10/28! :soexcited:
Interviewed 10/08 LM~70
Complete 07/06
My host told me that they seem to send out acceptances on Wednesdays. Good luck to everyone and hang in there! It's still early in the cycle.

Finally heard back. Waitlisted. That was my best chance at acceptance. Guess I'll be taking the new MCAT and reapplying next year...

Don't give up hope! Maybe send them a letter of intent and/or call to see if they'll give you any feedback on what you can be doing while you wait for waitlist movement?

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I know I should stay positive and keep at it, but it's very deflating to watch your chances at med school dwindle. I guess I'll send them an email with the inquiry and start planning the next steps.

I interviewed there on October 12th, so I hopefully hear back any day now. The wait is killing me! But keep your head up, I looked at your previous posts and a 33 on the MCAT is a really great score!

Hey all! Does anyone know if Einstein accepts application updates?

Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement

Congratulations to all those accepted! And best of luck to those still waiting to hear back. People in our class were accepted all the way in April so keep your head up!

huh??? You're waitlisted, dude.... Not rejected. Keep working on your app and sending in updates here and there. If you're in classes, kill them and send UT updates at the end of the semester. It's only November. I didn't even get my II until December last year.

While not rejected, I know that my chances dropped significantly and that I can't rely on being moved off of the waitlist as a plan for the future. So I'll need to approach things as if I'll need to reapply next year.

Woke up today and had an acceptance email from Toledo waiting for me!!! Interviewed 10/19, OOS.
Congrats! Anyone hear anything from 10/29? If you just found out maybe it's another week for me. Also, is everyone getting their acceptance/waitlist email early in the morning? Obsessively checking my phone every five minutes is not pleasing my boss

For those of you who got accepted, congratulations! For others out there, need some advice. I received their secondary very early in July and did not think about continuing it. Now that it's almost December, I am contemplating on submitting it, which is a very stupid idea on my part (I know, I know, I should have submitted earlier). If I submit it now, will I still have a shot at an interview for this school? Be blunt here.

I say the only way to know is to give it a shot.

Anyone here back today? It's been about four weeks and I'm wondering if they're not meeting this week due to the holiday. It seems they send the email pretty early in the morning.

It took the full 6 weeks for me to receive the email, just be patient!

Any IIs recently? Complete 9/2
Would really love to hear from Toledo before Christmas 🙄

is there a facebook group or anything for those accepted? would love to meet all of you!

Yes, there is! Once accepted, you should get an email about it
I was accepted but the email did not mention a facebook page. Could you by any chance provide a link or tell me another way to find the page?

I'm an M1, but that's what happened for me last year. You have to be invited.
