Question: Does UVM small pool almost everyone? I haven't been following this thread too closely, but from when I have looked at it, I haven't seen many people rejected pre-interview...

Oh hey, I've been small-pooled. Probably within the last week or so. I submitted mid-August. Although looking through this thread it doesn't seem like being small pooled actually means anything.

Glad I'm not the only one waiting for that long. Hopefully we get invited soon.My fingers are really pruning up in this small pool! Been there for... 5 months?! I'm always taken aback by how long this process takes.
+1 exactlyRejected today by checking the portal. no email. quick turnaround because I was just put under preliminary review on Monday after submitting mid August. Oh well. Good luck everyone!
Finally under preliminary review. Complete mid-September.
Congrats to all those Accepted!! I'll See Y'all in August!! Oh and for you outta staters, try to jump on the housing train as early as possible. Typically all the good apartments become available June 1st, and people are already snagging apartments for June now in December. I actually just threw down a deposit for mine last week. Check Craigslist if your trying to share a house, or check out the apartment websites if your trying to live in a building. For those living outta town and who arn't familiar with Burlington, I'd stay away from the old north end (a bunch of undergrads, and slumlords). Apartments on the South End and in the surrounding towns tend to be a bit nicer, and you get more bang for your buck. 🙂😉
Congrats to all those accepted! I've been wondering if update letters about activities and fall semester grades are accepted? I've been looking around and can't find any information explicitly saying they can or cannot be sent. Considering there's a "contact admissions" tab in the applicant center, I'd assume they are accepted, but I'm not completely sure.
+1At least you're under review. I'm still being processed. Not looking so good.
II this morning!!!! (second interview overall for me) I was scheduled for Feb 3rd. Was in small pool for less than a week. Anyone know how many people get accepted after interview? MSAR says 81/515 OOS matriculate, but I was wondering acceptance because the tuition may be daunting, many people decline their acceptance...
Yeah, I submitted my secondary around 8/9 (that's the last time I saved the doc). I was under prelim until late novemberish? I think I posted on here when I got out of prelim. I was small pooled Monday (1/4) after answering questions about my coursework. Also LizzyM of 68Congrats!! Mind sharing your complete date? Wondering how far along I am from getting reviewed.. Thanks!
I contacted them through the portal, but the message ends up in whatever email that you provided them on your secondary application. They then replied through email, not a portal update. They were very prompt in emailing me back, which was great!nice! did you contact them through the portal "contact admissions" thing or just directly email the admissions office?
I tried calling this morning and ended up leaving a voicemail, but haven't heard anything or seen a status change...really wish I'd emailed instead!I contacted them through the portal, but the message ends up in whatever email that you provided them on your secondary application. Did you just enter preliminary review this past week?So my status on the portal changed sometime this week, and it says I've been preliminary reviewed, but within a pool of applicants that MAY be extended an interview. No guarantee of one though.
Secondary finished 7/29
Update sent 01/04
Officially rescheduled my interview to January 16th! (Cousin's getting married on the weekend of the 3rd and flights were already booked to Florida.) Now to book a flight and hopefully get a student host...
Best Western/Windjammer
1076 Williston Road, South Burlington, VT
(802) 651-0638 (ask for Doug McSweeney)
Please indicate that you are interviewing at the UVM College of Medicine to receive the special rate of $99 from September to October 20. After October 20 through April $79. Shuttle Service (please schedule). Visit their website at Best Western Windjammer Inn
I wouldn't count on the student host since it's a little late now. I'm also interviewing on the 16th and have yet to hear back (I scheduled my interview in November).
^
I booked with these guys since the price was hard to beat elsewhere. They will pick you up from the airport via shuttle (or so I was told when I called to make a reservation). The price was actually 84 dollars a night, but still cheaper than the other options (the hostel is currently closed). I believe they have a shuttle that goes to the hospital on campus too!
Does anyone who's been accepted know when revisit/ second look will be?
Rejected via portal today, complete late August. I went straight from 20 weeks of "application being processed" to rejected, no preliminary review or small pool in between. Good luck to everyone else still in the running!![]()
Yeah, I had my secondary submitted in during July. 🙁 patiently waiting in the same boat. The review process at UVM is soo random. I submitted my secondary pretty late ( October), preliminary review within 2 weeks and small pooled a week after that. Now its been 2 months in the pool![]()
Any good news for your interview yet?I wouldn't count on the student host since it's a little late now. I'm also interviewing on the 16th and have yet to hear back (I scheduled my interview in November).

I should have mentioned the month--I'm interviewing on Jan. 16th. I was waiting to hear back from their overnight housing program.Any good news for your interview yet?
Thanks for the input, and I wanted to stay at Western Inn, but they weren't responding to my phone calls (all of them went to voicemail and I couldn't talk to the people at all today). So I booked via AirBnB for a slightly cheaper price and walking distance from UVM. I'll see you on Saturday!I wouldn't count on the student host since it's a little late now.
