My application is not marked as received/complete yet after 12 wks or so and I found that slow since all my other apps were complete a while ago. So I am not waiting to even hear back for any status change, merely to be complete....

I didn't see anything between "it may take 10-12 weeks for processing" and small pool. I think that's just the wording UVM uses.

Does anyone know if UVM rejects anyone post-interview? Or is everyone that is not accepted put onto a mass waitlist?

I am pretty sure that they do reject applicants post-interview. Can't remember where I saw that, so take it with a grain of salt.
 
where are people checking to see if they were small-pooled, etc? I can't find any way to check status when I sign into the secondary application?

Does anyone know if there's an online way to withdraw from an interview, or do you have to call/email?
 
II for 12/5! Completed secondary 09/30, small pooled around 10/22. OOS, but this is will be THIRD time interviewing here. I was waitlisted here for the class of 2018 and at another school the year before for the class of 2017. This is an amazing school and a top choice of mine so I am thrilled to be given another chance. My first interview invite here wasn't offered to me until March of 2014 after I had completed my secondary in September 2013 so don't lose hope on that II!! This has been an emotionally and financially draining process but I will not give up on this goal of mine and neither should any of you!! If this is a career you want don't ever give up on it.

Are you an IS resident? Stats?
 
II!!!! Submitted my app mid July, was under preliminary review mid September, small pooled late September.

OOS. Stats really don't matter but I will say they are about average. I definitely don't have a 4.0 GPA or 34+ (515+) MCAT score if that's what you're wondering. But I have pretty good EC's, LORS and an extremely honest, and creative personal statement that hopefully stood out. As far as why some people wait longer than others, that's just the nature of this process. Like I said earlier, it took 6 months before I got my II the first time I applied.

I was also complete around August, LizzyM 73 OOS. I get to visit Burlington!

edit: For 1/16, it's pretty cool that they interview on Saturdays!

Does anyone know if OOS students can pay in-state tuition here following their first year? I know some other schools let you do that

So even if you register to vote, live off campus, switch your driver's license, and maybe take up a limited part-time job (all for a year) this is not possible?

Even with all of that, it is not possible.

According to the University of Vermont Board of Trustees Residency Regulations:

" 2. In addition to establishing domicile, an in-state status applicant must reside in Vermont continuously for one full year prior to the semester for which in-state status is sought."

"3. A residence or domicile established for the purpose of attending UVM shall not qualify a student for in-state status."

That's a little more reassuring. It's just tough to wait out for so long, and not see some sort of review happening. But I guess it's not over until March for interviews.
 
Also, anybody who's gonna be arriving in Burlington tomorrow for the 11/6 interview and wants to grab dinner the night before, send me a PM. I'd love to have some company.

Thanks for the response, I read through the policy just now and found point 3. Oh well!

Wow really? That's insane. Was there any specific reason for their exclusion of you?? I feel like you hit all the points.

Haha geez. If you don't mind me asking, why did they classify you as OOS? Did you leave for a little bit after you were 22?

I would say your postbac was an educational foray if anything. So if you never left and got into medical school, it would be all be cool? So strict!

just entered preliminary review, complete for ~14 weeks 😵 didn't realize there was a status between being complete and small pooled, so I got overexcited then disappointed when I saw the words changed! Oh well, here's to another 6-8 weeks haha

I don't think I have been marked complete since 9/15? Not really sure of the status changes for UVM

Yeah, I just looked back at my google doc and I submitted 9/3 and haven't been "complete". At least from what my status on the portal says

Edit: Have they started rejecting people?

Hah, just checked and I'm complete. It's actually a couple of days after I sent in my update, so maybe that got me through the pipes
