Hey everyone, have an interview in a few days. Anyway to help prepare? Will they be testing knowledge about their mission or curriculum? Or is it purely MMI based questions? Is there an acting station? Thank you

Due to the nondisclosure agreement that all the interviewees signed at the interview, we cant tell you anything about the content of the MMI. Good luck!

Any fellow interviewees want to grab dinner/drinks/explore after the interview next Saturday?? I couldn't book a flight until the day after so I think it would be fun to check out the town while I have a free night.

are there many more interview invites left in the pipeline here?

I'm sure there are ways to help someone out without breaking the NDA

Try and be yourself (they like your stats already). Don't sound too rehearsed on common topics. Be sure to consider alternatives on any topic that's brought up--interviewers will sometimes introduce additional aspects or perspectives just to see how you think/adjust to new information.

With regards to knowing about a school... keep in mind they want to recruit students who they think will both benefit from and contribute to their community. As such, you should at least be aware of the school's mission, their curriculum, etc. If anything, it will help make sure you don't accidentally shoot yourself in the foot by saying (for example) you prefer a lecture-based curriculum at school that emphasizes case based learning.

Not sure about an acting station, but the additional interview info states that there will be a team-based activity of some kind during the day. Good luck!

Hey dude! I interviewed back in October, but I live in town and work at UVMCOM. I've been here for about 5 years now so i have a pretty good idea on what the night life is like. If you and a crew want to get together and hit the town after the interview, I'd be down to show you all the best spots! 🙂

For anyone who has interviewed recently - what did they tell you about the wait time between interview and decisions? 4-6 weeks?

anyone else drowning in this small pool for a couple months now?

Wish I could get there. Materials received for about 13 weeks. Office said they expect me to go under review in the next several weeks 🙁

Hahahahaha try 8-12.

Sorry I'm still a little salty about hearing the length of time before a decision.

OH wow that is a pretty long wait.

I am waiting on another school that said 10-12 also :yeahright:

I submitted around Aug 10th and still not under review. Is anyone, who submitted after Aug. 10th, under review?
I actually submitted on beginning of August and interviewed in October so I am unsure of what this all means... best of luck...

Did anyone who interviewed already use Uber? Were you able to take it to the interview in the morning?
Not sure if it got answered already but majority of hotels close to UVM have a shuttle service to campus, just ask.... I know both Sheraton and the Best Western do... not sure about uber

Thanks! I decided to stay at the best western so I'll just use their shuttle

👍 they are super nice over there, and their restaurant has this amazing maple pulled pork burger 😀 just make sure you "book" the shuttle when you check in... I suggest around 7:30am, its like 5 min away from campus 😉

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely be checking that burger out :hungry:

Also at the same place (Windjammer Restaurant and Upper Deck pub), they have an Cajun salmon caesar salad at the pub. It's on their secret menu and it's awesome 😉

The wait time they told us was around 7-9 weeks.

I'm down for doing something Saturday after the interview too!
I will be needing to find a spot to settle in and watch the Big Ten Championship game at 8 though.

It was merit-based. I haven't submitted any financial aid info -- the FAFSA requires info from your 2015 taxes so I'm not sure it's possible to even get started until the new year.

Where do u go up make the deposits

Nice! Hit up Ri Ra's on Church Street. They have an awesome set up for big games like that! And Grab a Heady Topper while your there! (For those non-Vermonters, a Heady Topper is an exclusive Vermont IPA, that has the reputation of being one of the finest IPAs in the country!)

Small pooled sometime within the last couple of weeks. Are a significant amount of applicants small pooled? I realize that sounds a bit oxymoronic but just curious

I'll be in town the morning before the 1/16 interview day and won't be leaving until the morning after.

Does anyone have suggestions on things to check out? I'm not sure if I'll be staying with a host that night or in a hotel, so I might have luggage to lug around.

For those of you accepted, did you write thank you notes? I am not sure who to even send it to since it was an MMI.

Do you mean accepted or interviewed? I wrote a thank you note to the UVMCOM admissions office after interviewing, but I wouldn't consider writing one if I got accepted.

I meant interviewed haha. Did you mail a letter or send an email?

Does anyone know if they accept personal updates through their admissions email?

My portal status changed form "6-8 weeks" today to "officially rejected", no email or anything. Never even got small pooled.
