I'm sure I could search through this entire thread but I'll be honest its become a complete sh*tshow and I don't wanna wade through it all

With that being said, anyone know the % of applicants that get accepted if they make it to the interview phase?

Also @rachiie01...no one with any good sense of music likes smashmouth 😛
 
So my file is still not complete and it's been almost 3 weeks.
Just to be sure, after submitting the secondary, there's nothing else we need to do. Right?
I have the fee waiver and my letters were received by AMCAS.

The most random things have happened to me, so my paranoia is not only reinforced, but steel-plated with a 10-foot lead coating.....

I called them last week because I was approaching my complete deadline and was still incomplete in the portal. They apparently had received my letters but hadn't attached them to my application yet. They extended my deadline so there would be plenty of time for them to finish that last bit. I think they are a bit back-logged.

They were really nice though, so I don't think they would mind if you called to make sure everything was good on your end.
 
Quick Question: What's the parking situation for applicants who are driving? Do they provide parking, or do we have to find it ourselves?

Last year, they interviewed ~900-1000, and accepted ~300. There are going to be more acceptances OOS, as IS has a higher yield due to lower tuition costs and a desire to stay closer to home.

I got an II a week after having my status change to that!! So give it time and you may hear some good news!!
 
Oh wow I laid low from this thread for2 weeks of this thread and it's now 8 more pages... hawt damn...

Any ways does anyone know what is the date of submission that the adcom is currently processing?? How much longer will it take for them to reach people who were ready for review on the first week of August?

Hi! This is a good status. You will get an interview invite depending on availability. Could you please tell us when you were complete and if you are IS or OOS? We are all just waiting for our files to be reviewed and have no clue where the admissions committee is in terms of file review dates. Thank you and good luck!

I've had this status for a week...I was complete in july and oos
 
Hey everyone I interviewed at MCV recently. My interview was with a faculty member. We talked about my undergraduate career in general and some of my other experiences. They've seen everything so be prepared to talk about anything in your file! My interview lasted an hour. I am an in-state applicant, as were the majority of the other students interviewing my day, however there were also a few out of state students there. Good luck to everyone applying and interviewing!!

Out of genuine curiosity, why did you give out specific questions? It seems like it's just detrimental to you and everyone who has already interviewed since they went into it not knowing what to expect. It doesn't make sense to give everyone else an unfair advantage.

You can probably find all of those on the VCU school specific SDN Interview page. Doubt he posted any question that isn't already searchable.

These are typical interview questions. Everyone should be prepared to answer those
 
I just got an email that my status changed
on the portal
it was the message asking me to complete the interview survey
my heart dropped
also: is the whole if you hear back within 10 days you're rejected thing true?

No MD schools are allowed to send out an acceptance before october 15th. Fret not!

Just got three back to back emails from VCU saying a status change was made. And I see nothing different 🙁
 
Just got the further status email. Hoping it leads to an interview for me.
 
Wow, I had given up on ever hearing from VCU, but finally got an update to the "MAY" status. I was complete in mid-July / OOS. Crossing fingers...
 
I just got rejected from VCU before the secondary request. I'm in-state, LizzyM 73+, nontrad, applied on 8/18. Now I'm wondering if there's some hideous red flag on my app since this is the first school I heard back from.

Look on the bright side..at least you didnt have to pay the secondary fee.

Like I said, I applied on 8/18, the day after I got my MCAT score (517, btw.)
 
Wow finally granted secondary, after being verified in mid July.. Is it even worth submitting?

Va born and raised but not current resident (family still there). LizzyM 66-71 with strong SMP, 33-35 MCAT
 
Does anyone know about their policies on thank you emails/notes? I know some schools are pretty adamant about people NOT sending anything after their interviews.

Also, I have my interviewer's name and department but I did not get her email address, would it be overstepping to look it up in the faculty directory to send a thank you note?
 
It looks like they just released all the status emails that never went out previously. I just got my initial status change email and my II email. Hopefully that means they have fixed whatever software bug was causing problems.

its probably fine. If they really did not like thank you notes that much, I am sure they would have said something.

Mine just changed to that status today after being at the "Your MD file is now complete" status since late July. Basically thought I was running around in a circle when I read the sentence.
 
To avoid anxiety in this cycle,I haven't been checking any of the portals because I expected the emails to be sent out.

I just got all of the status change email today and realized I was invited to interview, 3 weeks ago but because I didn't respond in time, they withdrew my application!! I'm hoping that I'm not the only one with this problem and they'll be lenient about it.
 
This is what I still have, and I have been complete since middle of July.

Your M.D. file is now complete. The Sub-Committee will now do a review of your application. Once this review is complete, you will receive a status update regarding your profile.

No status changes, nothing.

I got TWO application status update emails today - one of which was "dated" (in the body of the email) 9/15/2015 and the other 9/16/2015. Yet when I log into my portal it displays the same message that it always has - that my application is now complete and will undergo a review by the sub-committee. I just emailed support asking if there's anything I'm missing... currently tearing my hair out!!!!

I'm so sorry 🙁. Have you talked to admissions about scheduling an interview? Hopefully they understand that it was due to a tech problem.
