Last year I received an II in December from ECU. And I know people who got II up through January. Don't worry yet!
Did you end up getting accepted? Or are you a reapplicant?

I'm a reapplicant. I was accepted this year, interviewed in early October accepted in early November.Did you end up getting accepted? Or are you a reapplicant?
Can I ask if you're ORM or URM? First time applicant or re-applicant? and is it pre-II or post-II? Thanks!Rejected today. LizzyM ~68, non-trad. Good luck everyone!
+1 anyone know? Can we expect to see anymore acceptances in December?
Judging by last year's thread, it looks like they accepted 10 applicants between 12/15 and 1/15. However, nobody posted during the second half of December, so I'd say they continue their deliberation in January.+1 anyone know?
I'd actually argue that they are most likely on break from meeting until after the new year. So don't expect much until mid-January
Are all applicants required to submit fall grades?
Brody seems to have a history with rejecting applicants who have really high stats. Good luck!! I'm certain you'll get in elsewhere.Post II rejection a couple hours ago, interviewed in September. LizzyM 74
Brody is a puzzling one

Brody is all about the mission of eastern NC. they want to churn out primary care physicians. if your application does not appear to fit the "mission of the school" then your chances are not as good
Nah, they are looking for people who are interested in serving all across the state. I explicitly said in my interviews I was interested in practicing in the western part of the state, and I was accepted. I wouldn't worry. 🙂Do you think an applicant's chances would be reduced if they we interested in primary care, but in the western part of the state?
I wouldn't BS. More than half their class doesn't go into primary care. They know not everyone is going to be a primary care doc in rural NC! I have a friend who is a first year there and he told his interviewer he wants to specialize for sure. My interviewer told me that even though primary care is the mission of the school, they know interests change and it's nbd.I am certain that I do not want to be in primary care. Should I BS in my upcoming interview, or just emphasize that I'm undecided on what specialty I wish to pursue (which is true) and just hope they don't question more than that
I agree with the rest of this thread. Usually interviewers can tell when someone is BSing, so I'd just tell them the truth: you're open to just about anything.I am certain that I do not want to be in primary care. Should I BS in my upcoming interview, or just emphasize that I'm undecided on what specialty I wish to pursue (which is true) and just hope they don't question more than that
Sorry to butt in (not an applicant, well not yet anyways!), but what is ECU's attitude towards students who are NC residents but left the state to go to college in another state and/or spent a year outside of the state for their gap year? I have heard that ECU tends to look down upon such applicants and very few are accepted (though I'm sure part of that is because very few applicants are in such a position in the first place).
Obviously, any such applicant to Brody or UNC has to convince admissions that they plan on coming back to the state permanently and serving the needs of the state in the future.
How do y'all feel about sending in fall grades if they're just going to drop your GPA? I want to send an update letter that includes a recent publication and work experience but I don't know if I should attach an updated transcript...

Not sure what anyone else has experienced, but I'm a life-long NC resident who went to undergrad out of state and interviewed at Brody. 2 others in my interview group were NC residents who went to undergrad out of state too! They seem to care more about where your intentions lie as far as practicing in NC after graduation. The mission of Brody is to educate primary care physicians to serve the people in the Eastern part of the state, so while it's not a requirement to want to practice in NC, having ties to NC does line up with their mission.
Congratulations! When did you interview?Accepted!! Got an email two days ago!
Rejected today. Interviewed early November

Hey y'all, just wondering- Have your application status portals been updated at all? Mine hasn't been updated since September and still says "We have scheduled your interview."
Sorry for the late reply, I interviewed on 11/9.
+1
I seem to remember from last year's thread that there were updates along the way, but mine has been sitting on interview scheduled for three months now.
+1Well at least I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. Thanks!
Thank you!!! I was surprised too! Feeling very fortunate to receive an acceptance this time aroundDang they must've liked you because that was surprisingly quick! Congratulations![]()
