@SSJimmer7 Do you know how important it is to the Tulane adcom if you decide to stay or not stay overnight with a student host? Do you get any brownie points for it? I would love to be hosted but I'm also flying in a few days early with my bf to explore the city, so that might be kind of weird. Also, how's Uber there? At least from downtown to the school?
n=1 here, but I flew in the night before my interview, stayed in a hotel, and flew out immediately after. My schedule didn't allow me to stay longer. I was accepted 3 weeks after my interview.
Staying with a student host is for your benefit to get a good vibe of the school and the student body. As long as you've read up on Tulane, its role in the New Orleans community, and can discuss why you want to come here incorporating those two things, you should be fine without spending any extra time in NOLA.

The only light we can shed is that you don't need any medical knowledge, background, or voodoo magic to do well. The only skills required are the ability to follow directions and interact with people you have just met. It's supposed to be fun and stress-free, or as fun and stress-free as a medical school interview can get.
Has anyone so far gotten an II without taking the CASPer?

I got an II in mid-August and have not taken the CASPer yet.
I went through last year's thread and there were people getting rejected pre-II at least as late as November that were complete in July despite not seeing any reported IIs anywhere near that late. They seem to fill their interview calendar pretty early in the cycle. Poster above noted available interviews are already into February. Just an observation.

Should be 30-45 minutes. That being said some interviews will end up being significantly shorter.
Secondary complete on 7/20 (Casper on 9/1), still haven't heard anything. 3.4/512. Hopefully this means they liked what they saw in me enough to not reject me outright yet, at least!
Just depends on how the conversation flows. Short is not necessarily bad, then again, neither is long. My best advice would be to be yourself. If you've received an interview here, Tulane likes you on paper. The in-person interview is truly Tulane trying to decide on whether or not, personality wise, you'll be a good fit.

Interviewing on Monday and staying with a friend who goes to Tulane undergrad...apparently there is a fried chicken festival on Sunday [emoji39] other than that the French quarter is awesome and you have to get beignets at cafe du monde

Complete 07/18, CASPer completed 07/26... Idk when I received the green check mark but it's been like that for >a month at least. Still haven't heard anything yet. 🙁
I have been complete since late July....didn't do CASPer because I thought they would come to a conclusion pretty quickly or at least within a month but that doesn't seem to be the case. I obviously havent been rejected but people before and after me have...I'm so confused

Since I was complete early August and the adcom looks like it's passed that date (no rejection or II so I'm assuming I'm on hold).. should I take Casper now? Not sure if it helps or anything at this point so I'm reaching out to my fellow applicants for a poll:

I'm having this same problem. I dont want to take CASPer just to be rejected before results come out. I was hoping I would get an interview and then I would take CASPer so that when they are making a decision, they could look at casper results too. Idk. Does this mean we are on hold?? I don't even know what that means (is that neutral?)

Called Tulane today--they said if people got rejected before and after you...it's usually a good (certainly not a terrible) sign and it means that you're on their radar and they just don't have interview slots open quite yet. They said that's the most likely reason
