II! Somebody tell me how to not screw this up lol...and where did that person get the 60% acceptance if interviewed??? That sounds too good to be true.

Edit: yesterday I got the email. it looked like spam...almost deleted it

If you go by interviews done and total acceptances it's close to 60%. That's if you count people who decline for various reasons, and deferment, etc.

Michigan starts publishing a tracker about how many IIs were issued, which schools got the most, etc on a monthly basis on their website pretty soon. The last tracker page I posted in an earlier message shows you 369 admissions issued (259 OOS and 110 IS) but I don't know if it was the final tracker, just one I kept a copy of.

Wow that's pretty cool. So is the percentage close to that for most schools then?

For those who received interviews, does the email direct you the application portal? I am paranoid that, if I receive an interview offer, it will be caught in the spam folder and accidentally deleted. So I want to make sure that when you receive an interview, you can see that on the app portal, not just in an email.

There was a direct link in the email, but I imagine if you logged into the portal normally it would be there. That happened to me at another school where I missed the email but logged onto the portal seeing the option to pick a date.

Can't hurt.....
Doesn't help your chances any, but that still leaves a few months left in the app cycle, as long as your amcas is verified already.
I guess it really just depends on how strong your app is.......

No, Michigan is probably more special that way. Some schools like Harvard have only 25% admit rate and some other top 10 schools operate in the 30-40% acceptance rate.

I'm planning on finishing my AMCAS primary by today. I'm going to try to pre-write all my secondaries. Do I stand a chance at UofM? I have a 514 MCAT 3.7 GPA. Someone please help me decide if I should apply here or not. From what I've read they like early applicants. But I swear as soon as I get a secondary in August, I'm gonna have everything written up and click submit.

My good friend didn't submit his primary until August last year and got into all the top schools, including Michigan. His stats were a little better than yours but it was his ECs that got him attention. Michigan is especially tough on late applicants because they have rolling admission but clearly they still consider them. If you feel like you deserve to go to Michigan and you can afford the $38+$85, go for it, even if you're a little unsure. This is your future, you don't want to always wonder (as long as you can spare the ~$125)

Mich was that hidden gem I neglected in my first round of primary apps and just discovered... added it to my primary yesterday and submitted the secondary today. GPA 3.9/MCAT 521. Hopefully they won't penalize me too much...

That's awesome! More schools should do this. I don't see what they have to lose with transparency.
Very awesome, but also disheartening to see the interviews scheduled vs. applications received in such a blunt format, LOL.

Just submitted my secondary. Hoping for another four years in Ann Arbor 😎

I talked to the admissions office this morning. II's go out on Mondays. Also, tracker should be up this week.
Does this mean II come EVERY Monday? Or rather, if they come out for the week, they come on Mondays?

Oh and top it off, she told me it didn't necessarily have to go out in the day time. Could be morning, could be evening.
Niiiiiice. So basically, it could be out in about 7 hours (assuming Michigan goes by central time)

Doubtful, I think she meant as in Monday night.
Also, Michigan is eastern time.
Haha yeah I know she prob meant that, just stoking the neurotic flame for a comedic post.

Good to know it's on Eastern time. thanks for letting me know.

Trying to decide if I should buy insurance for my phone... It'll probably break from refreshing my email 10,000,000 times tomorrow

They normally did it either at 1 or 2 PM eastern last year on Mondays.

Do they send them all out at once, or is it throughout the day?

Congrats to those who got IIs! Do you guys mind sharing if your letters are in yet?

I feel like they are just mocking me with all of these tweets. For some reason I get a push notification every time they post one too

Anyone else notice the 5 year stats they posted on their site says the average II's scheduled are 387 for june/July?
This is the last Monday of july..... I'm guessing there will be a lot of happy people by the end of the day.... .

I believe the statistic you are referring to actually means that 387 of the interviews are from applications that were received in June/July.

Yeah I just looked at it again, you may be right. I'm not getting my hopes too high, but I do have a feeling it'll be a good sized batch sent out today.

I wish I had submitted earlier than 7/21. I doubt there's any chance they've even looked at my app yet, let alone extend an II today..

I pinned up a fortune cookie fortune to my bedroom wall yesterday: "Patience is the key to joy."

Why not, if you don't mind me asking?
Top ten school in a very nice area.....

1. No connection to/don't like Michigan

=)

... totally is a great school, though! I just wouldn't be happy there. Shouldn't have sent in an app!
