I'm pre-writing my app, could someone let me know if spaces are counted as characters in their character counts for their essays? Thank you!

Totally missed the part on the email that said return app within 7 days

primary verified 6/13 and submitted 7/14 and got an email confirmation on 7/15
I got an email confirmation the day I submitted, but it stated they would send me another email when the app was considered "complete." Was this what you received? Or did you actually receive an email stating your app was complete?

Totally missed the part on the email that said return app within 7 days, and I did it immediately and turned it in at 8 days. Is this bad? 🙁((
It says that you won't be able to submit payment after 7 days so if you can still do that I think you would be fine for the most part.

For high school GPA are you inputting weighted GPA's (if your schools did that) or just standard GPA? I cannot remember my weighted GPA hahaha

:/ yeah you're right...i looked at it again...i got the email that said they received my app so no, i haven't gotten the email that they got everything

What is the point of the failure essay? So that you will hand-pick your weaknesses for them and help them with the reasons not to consider you?

It's less about the failure and more about what you learned from it/how you handled the failure.

Ahhh crap. So if I miss the 7 day mark can I not apply anymore?

Hey all, just wanted to chime in about the 7 day issue. I noticed that for some reason my application start date was listed as earlier than I actually received the supplemental. I sent an email about this and they said, "we have had some problems with the payment site so not to worry about the 7 day deadline."

I assume this would apply to you all as well. If you aren't able to pay I would just give them a call, it seems like they are being flexible about it!

Had the same problem with the start date being inaccurate. Thanks for letting us know how they responded!

Same here , just got the "Received " mail.

Sent my primary app to UNC on 7/19. How soon could I expect secondary?

just submitted way after the 7 day cutoff. my payment went through but the home screen seems kinda strange, it doesn't really say anything like "secondary completed" or "secondary submitted." can someone who submitted within 7 days shed some light on what their home screen looks like?

here is what someone said earlier about that "Hey all, just wanted to chime in about the 7 day issue. so don't worry about it....you should get an email soon that they received it.

I just submitted my secondary within the 7 day timeframe and the welcome screen just says "application status for..." and then my address and says "verify address" but there isn't a button to verify the address. It also gives a reference number for my application.

Submitted my app on 7/19. Have not heard anything yet. Anyone received secondary in the last couple of days?

I called the Admissions Office this morning. The lady was really nice and answered that if you received a "payment submitted", that signifies your application being complete. For your peace of mind, you might want to call and check like I did (she went and found my application), but I figured I'd post it here since I was confused initially.

Do I have to put in my high school info and gpa if I did not use any of the AP towards my undergraduate credit?
I can't recall my high school gpa...lol

I called because I submitted without my high school information and they said I didn't need it and it's only required for certain applicants. You could call and check with them before submitting, but I don't think it is necessary to include it.

Yea I am trying to call them all day but nobody picked up.. trying again tmrw! Thank you though!

So how seriously does UNC take the 7 day thing. I received the email on Monday morning (8/1), I just opened up the app and it says app started 7/30, -_- so now I have less time than I thought. Still refining essays.

Edit: read earlier comments.

You lose access to the payment portal after 7 days, and you can't submit your application without paying. Pretty firm deadline but they have extended people earlier this cycle due to some issues with the payment link.

Does anyone's "application status" page explicitly state a status (complete, reviewed, on hold)? Mine just has my address and "recent activity" box at the bottom, which just says that my payment was submitted 7/17.

Mine says something similar to this. I called the admissions office a little bit ago and they said my app was submitted successfully. Be sure to look for the payment fee received email too.

Would it be bad if all three of my secondary essays are from the same extracurricular activity? It's the one I've been most involved in....

Anyone get offered an interview yet? I think it says first one will be in September.

I wouldn't do that unless it is all you have done. All three of my essays covered distinctly different experiences.

July 18th but I'm OOS.
I submitted mine 7/16, so it's possible they are going in order. Don't give up hope 🙂 also, the email most likely means absolutely nothing, so keep that in mind. This is a long, frustrating and, at times, enigmatic process that will only be made worse by over analyzing every step.

Totally easier said than done to relax though, I totally get where you're coming from.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm also OOS.

I received an email on 7/15 saying that my secondary and fee were complete and they would notify me when my LOR and MCAT scores were received. I never got another email and all my stuff should be in. Should I call them?
