Just added this school on Wednesday. Getting paranoid my list was too top heavy. Have some fam in rochester too, and a famous alum told me he thinks its the top place to be a med student right now... idk about that last part but I'm curious!

I feel the same way 😛 But your guaranteed miss every shot that you don't take! Did he explain why he thinks that?

Has anyone here not gotten a secondary yet? I'm getting a little worried....

supposedly as much if not more attention is paid to the undergrad med students as the res/fellows' learning, including being given extra responsibilities as a med student, and they really give a lot of thought to the curriculum.

i feel like rochester's the right size city too. not too big that it's distracting, and not too small that it's claustrophobic and still has good size patient population

edit: speak of the devil! I just got the secondary 5 minutes after writing this

Sounds like a pretty nice place to be (full disclosure: its one of my top choices). Congrats on the secondary!

Does Rochester screen primaries before sending secondaries? My primary was verified 7/6 and I haven't received any notification. Anyone else on the same boat?

I doubt it. Got secondary less than 24 hours after submitted late primary.

Not sure if this is cause for concern? Does anyone else have primaries that have been verified yet no secondary?

Just making sure that "Participated in a formal summer research and / or enrichment program related to a career in the health professions" refers to involvement in a program and not just full time research done in the summer in a lab. Can anyone verify this?

That's how I understood it, since it says formal

Sent from my SM-N900T using SDN mobile

I wonder how much it costs for them to send that out to every applicant?
I'm going to guess around ~$10 max for printing and shipping. Wish more schools would send us brochures. Must have been a huge chore packaging and sending them off to everyone.

I've encountered a couple of "digital brochures," but yeah, Rochester is the only one to go hard copy.

Anyway, this was my first completed school (on 7/19) and is one of, if not my absolute top choice. So I'm really hoping for some good news here. Good luck to everyone else applying!

Damnit definitely got passed over. I would feel more confident if I had like one other interview yet (I know it's early)

Seeing as I was complete in June, guess no love. Cycle is off to a horrible start.

is rochester releasing II's on a rolling basis, or weekly/monthly/randomly?

Guess it's time to leave SDN until I either get an II somewhere or end up with a fruitless cycle again...feel the neuroticism and self doubt bubbling up.

Best of luck to everyone who got IIs

I am sorry, I understand being on sdn constantly is quite nerve wracking. But be assured that it's very early in the cycle, I have heard of people getting interviews in March and getting accepted. Good Luck with your cycle!

Congrats to all the IIs , would you mind sharing your stats please if you haven't already.
