Could you share your stats and IS status? Curious to what got you an interview so fast after completion!
 
Complete 9/6, rejection today. Kind of shocked at the quick turn-around with the rejections, especially since I have gotten other IIs...I'm a reapplicant with a higher GPA/MCAT score. IS as well. Oh well, onto the next one! Good luck guys!

From the rest of this thread it looks like Keck is pretty tough on reapplicants. Good luck with the rest of the cycle and congrats on the II's!

my LizzyM is >74, and i'm in state. i have some really unique extracurriculars that may have helped me. also, i pored over my secondary for at least 30 hours cause i wasn't happy with it for the longest time, but as a result i thought it was very strong at the end. best of luck in receiving an interview! 🙂
 
Has anyone gotten a II here with a lower than ave mcat for keck?
 
I think someone mentioned this earlier, but has anyone submitted their secondary early July and not heard anything back yet?

They have a cutoff?!?! 😵 well definitely below that and no rejection yet one can dream...

That's why it's unofficial. They do not do a hard numbers cutoff (like some schools will automatically cut everyone under a 30 regardless of story). Keck will still review all apps, but they offer spots to those under a 33 for URM, veterans, exceptional life story, etc.

This was all said to me by a current Keck student who chatted with the Dean. Another Keck student told me they like to interview stat powerhouses towards the start of the cycle and lower stats as it goes on.

Interesting. I think I just made it, but I guess we'll see. Playing the waiting game.

I received a separate email asking me to submit additional essays for HTE last week.
 
Rejected today... first school I've heard back from. One of my top choices too :/

Congrats on the II! Been a lurker on SDN for a while now, but I just got an II too! First one this cycle, so super excited 🙂 I also didn't see any dates listed at first, but I called their office and they've since opened up a few dates in January. The earliest was 1/10. Hopefully you should be able to see them now!

For those who are curious: Complete 7/4, LizzyM 72, IS

Oh my god, they're already into January?! That's crazy. Looks like they're getting pretty full. :scared::whoa:Fingers crossed for those of us still waiting to hear.

On their website they have July-Feb as the timeline for II's. Even if we cut off those last two months as an exaggeration, we're still less than halfway through the process...I hope
 
Also, they have a decently large class of 180-190, so they have a lot of spots to fill. Good vibes to all of us still waiting!
 
Complete 8/25. Haven't heard back smh Actually from all of my schools except for a couple I got II's from. Not even rejections.

I also completed the secondary back in June and haven't heard anything. Did you guys send updates before you heard about II?

They actually don't accept any updates, pre- or post-interview, unfortunately. But hang in there! I hope good news finds its way to you soon!
 
Dean Arias was like "no updates, not even if you get published in cell or nature."
 
Complete in July and still silence. I really just want to keep getting alerts for this thread and I guess sdn stops sending them if you're not active for x number of posts.
 
For those of y'all who interviewed early september, did dean arias mention that we'd definitely hear back by october 15th?

Sadly, no. She said we might. I guess if they don't want to admit us but don't want to reject us just yet then we'll have a wait.
 
Anybody know if USC calls for admissions or communicates it in some other way?
 
I got my first II from Keck mid-September, just 1 week after submitting the secondary. (OOS)
 
Does USC usually fill up its interview slots this quickly? I just got an II and the only available dates for me were at the very end of January, and I read that USC only interviews into mid-February.

They've been giving interviews for >3 months now. End of January seems a little late, but with holidays coming up it sort of makes sense?
