You can call or email them.
Yeah, just arrived in the mail. I live in Memphis though, so the turn-around is quick if they sent them out yesterday.

So it did not tell you what third you were in? I thought they would at least volunteer that much. No use holding out hope if you are in the last third
...Are you sure about that? Based on the FAQ, they seemed to strongly suggest that they would not be telling people their positions
From the FAQ:
We do not inform alternates of their exact ranking or relative standing. As positions become available, notifications will be communicated via a telephone call followed-up with an acceptance packet. Please be sure the most recent contact information is on file....
did the outside of the envelope have any indication that it was an acceptance?I was accepted today after being on hold since late March. They never sent an email saying they'd sent the packet so I was definitely surprised. Keep on the lookout guys!

I'm top 3rd too. Hmm, I guess it's a waiting game. When does movement generally happen?I was only told top third. I'm assuming that means I am towards the end of the top third though since he did not go more specific like I have noticed before when students are 50 or lower??
I sent an email to Mr NS last week on Friday that I did not get my final decision letter. He responded the same day, that 'the letters were mailed out today'. I checked today and got the Acceptance. Your's may be en route. I think the movement has already started; as I was on hold, and got the letter today.I'm top 3rd too. Hmm, I guess it's a waiting game. When does movement generally happen?
Were you placed on the alternate list and then immediately accepted? I asked Dean Strother if I was in some alternate list. I never got a response to that. I was just told that final decision letters have been mailed out and to check the mail. And so I was shocked to get an Acceptance, since I never expected it to begin with. I may have been put on an alternate list, but I am not sure. Or, perhaps I made it through the final decision in regular cycle. Were you placed on the alternate list and then immediately accepted? Or were you just on hold and never on an alternate?
Ok I gotcha. I expect you were just in the last round of acceptances from the regular cycle.I asked Dean Strother if I was in some alternate list. I never got a response to that. I suppose so. So many years (5+) have gone into this day. I left a career in Engg, IT, to become a pre-med and now this. I don't know how to process this news yet.Ok I gotcha. I expect you were just in the last round of acceptances from the regular cycle.
Did y'alls letters offer advice on what to do to improve your application for next year?
Keep us updated!I'm living off of all yalls good news! I'm not home to check my mail (and it's killing me lol) but it's awesome to hear about y'all!!
Top third, but I think that means past >60
🙁
Yep. Being top third by no means is a guarantee. If you're in the top half of that part, chances are good as they in the past few years have accepted in the upper fifties from the alternate list and there are about 82 people in that top third.
Ahhh, perhaps, I keep telling myself though that if I was top 50, he'd say that instead of top 3rd
edit: Plus, I'm worried b/c I'm going out of the country for a month, so I'm trying to get apartments done ASAP. D:
From past years, I don't believe he has given any indication other than which third you're a part of.
I noticed in last years thread that a lot were told a little more specifics. Like top 30, top 60, top 75 etc.
Upper third here. I'm wondering if there is a chance that they are not telling specific numbers ? I'd like to be optimistic that some of us are in the top 50.Who knows though...
I was just told I'm in the top third, as well. Did Mr. Strother's response to y'all say that he is letting everyone know that they need to be sure and have a secondary plan as they don't know the number of offers they'll send out? Hoping that wasn't just an addition to mine pretty much saying "better luck next year chump"

I'm in the middle third and was told the exact same thing. Most likely a template as I'm sure he's gotten hundreds of emails this week.

Does this mean I'm not the only "old" person in the class? 5+ years for me as well!I suppose so. So many years (5+) have gone into this day. I left a career in Engg, IT, to become a pre-med and now this. I don't know how to process this news yet.
Does anyone know if you can defer/delay matriculation after accepting the offer? I may need to do this, but don't really want to email the admissions office this questions. Thanks!
Thanks! I already have an offer, but was wondering if I can defer/delay after I've accepted their offer. It seems like you definitely can. View attachment 218691
