2016-2017 University of Vermont Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Did people who were accepted send thank you notes after their interview date??

I did not. I was very worried about it though....

Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile

Okay that is relieving. I went out of the country the next day and didn't send one... I was going to write on this week but I figured 3-4 weeks after might not be worth it. Congrats on your acceptance !

Congrats to all those accepted.
Now for those in the pool it's feeding time so let's hope they feed us some II's and not rejections.😉

Do we know whether II's should pick up, now that a wave of acceptances/rejections went out?

I just got added to the pool at the end of last week... I imagine they move on to a second round now, carrying over deferrals/wait list etc. But I know NADA!

Do you have visibility to what the interview slots are left and how far out they are scheduling interviews?
They give you a date, so you can't really see. They interview until March of course, but I don't think the slots are already filled up to that point already...

I guess that's a NO. 🤢

Yeah they didn't seem too optimistic we would hear.. Oh we'll probably soon
Hey guys. I believe they don't send all decisions out for a single interview date at once. Somewhere along the lines of "don't freak out if your friends get news from us and you don't yet" sort of thing. That's what I overheard, but could be wrong.

Just trust them. You've met the dean, she's awesome. I'm sure they're just going to review case by case and let you know when they can. It's one of the friendliest schools out there so it's not like they're actively trying to screw any candidate over

Has anyone heard of the "turkey rule"?
Are we toast if no II by then?😢

You're not " toast "lol, but i would start making plans for the next year if that's the case. I've heard of people getting many II's later on in the cycle, last year someone got 5 in December. Keep the faith, but stay realistic

French toast gets pretty soggy before it becomes toast, so at least if we do somehow become toast we will be pretty d*mn delicious. I'm still super hopeful for us pool peeps though!
You know they never said that the pool was full of water... it could be an egg-based pool.

Quick congrats to everyone who's gotten good news so far! I'm a first-year at UVM COM and absolutely love it here 😀 I'm not watching this thread super closely, but feel free to tag or PM me if you have any questions about the school or about life in Burlington.
Thanks for popping in! I think a lot of us are curious about the timeline of UVMs interviews. Obviously the SDN community doesn't always represent the whole applicant pool, but looking back in this thread, it has been over a month since a significant wave of interviews invites were sent out. Was this the same for your application cycle? A lot of us haven't heard anything since we were first "pooled" as far back as early July, and have been confused about what to expect going forward, seeing as a significant portion of members of this thread haven't heard back yet.

it would probably be a vegan-considerate option, actually

At least Vermont has great maple syrup for our French toast😉.

Anyone else have a serious craving for some french toast w/ Vermont maple syrup now?? This veggie girl likes the sound of the vegan option 🙂

MAYBE IT'S A POOL OF MAPLE SYRUP.

Haha if that is the case, I am going to be seriously obese by the end of this cycle unless they give me an II and save me! I love maple syrup too much to be swimming in a pool of it for months. Starting to picture that this pool is just a part of Willy Wonka's factory
