Sorry for the double-post, but I just noticed the poster above my last post gave an answer to my last question already. Anyone else have experience with the food in Richmond?

Stella's near monument avenue has amazing greek food and citizen burger bar in Carytown is amazing with a great beer selection. Seriously though Richmond has every type of food you could want...

I've had the "very interested" status since late-August. Would it be advisable to call them? I don't want to seem too pushy though but I really like VCU.

.... and I've been complete for well over 2 months. There are many out there who have been waiting even longer than I have. VCU is slow with the whole process in general so freaking out here isn't helping anyone 🙂 Best of luck to everyone else also waiting and let's all find things to distract us.

I just received the secondary two days ago and I ready to submit but I am confused by one part. What do they mean about the "Explain any lapses in your education?" Is this talking about gaps in time or if you messed up in classes?

I got it two weeks ago and just checked the portal and there was a schedule interview tab!

+1. I'm speculating that it means our priority score is high enough for an interview, but perhaps lower than those getting earlier interviews? Honestly have no idea but grasping at straws here haha.

It finished at about 2PM. That's what it said on the portal when I received the II and that is exactly what happened on the day.

Check your portal because that's where all of the info will be. You need to get there at 8 to check in and go over the instructions for the MMI. Then you have the MMI from 9 to 11. Then there's an hour-long info session. Then you have lunch and a tour with some students from 12 to 2.

I believe it was a few weeks from complete file to the "very interested" status, but from the data here so far, it seems you can't really predict a timeline for these status updates and decisions

It first read the subcommittee that I was complete and they were going to read my file. Got the very interested status very quickly after I was complete, like <1 week.

Mine also magically provided the "schedule interview" tab after a month and a half of "very interested" status. If only they sent emails. Who knows when it changed. I'm not a compulsive checker of the portals.

PSA: If you have an iPhone and use safari, when you get to the weird jibberish page on the VCU portal, hold down the reload button and click "request desktop site". This will allow you to view the portal on mobile.

To all the folks who got a "schedule interview" tab -- I checked back about 2 days after getting mine, and there was a more detailed descriptor of interview day, as well as a document to go along with it. I never got a confirmation e-mail, but I assumed this was the confirmation!

Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but how hard could it possibly be to send out email notifications for interviews/holds/rejections? Getting 10,000+ applications isn't an excuse because other schools with equal numbers of applicants do it. It's honestly pretty inconsiderate considering the amount of money/time we pour into these applications.

Yep! There's even a date in March. Interesting that they interview on Saturdays as well. Great for us working peeps.
