Hey guys,
How long did you wait to hear back after you submitted your secondaries?
I submitted my secondary app 15 days ago and heard nothing back. To be honest, I feel worried now.

Rejected, OOS, not sure why though because I have a very competitive app. complete about a week ago. Email received today.

Same here, thought I matched the service oriented mission pretty well too. At least they didn't keep us waiting.

Interviewing on Oct 6. Hope to see some of you guys there!

I interviewed here a few days ago and I absolutely loved it!!!! The day was long (10-3:00, depending on when your interview times were) but it flew by. They sat all of us applicants in this beautiful conference room that was overlooking the campus with coffee, water, snacks, etc. Information session was from 10-11, lunch with two med students from 11-12, then tour of the health science center and Ruby hospital from 12-12:50. Interviews started at 1 and each applicant had two 20 min interviews. There was a fourth year med student in the interview room who was shadowing the faculty member and he/she was actually very resourceful for specific questions. We had a lot of down time in the conference room in between interviews and it actually ended up being really fun. All of the applicants were bonding and laughing and it definitely helped ease the nerves. Overall, the entire day was super laid-back and the interviews were low stress and conversational. WVU was my favorite and most relaxed interview day so far. Hope this helps anyone who is interviewing but really try not to stress, it was an awesome day 🙂.

II for an interview in January! Complete on 9/6. LM 69 and no ties to WV. Very excited! (just wish the interview was sooner)

Interviewing in January - can't hardly wait!

Interviewed here, absolutely loved the school and all staff and students. Everybody was so welcoming, not just the admissions staff but anybody that you walked past. Made friends with several med students within a few minutes of being on campus. Seriously exceeded my expectations and cannot wait to hear back on the 17th!!!

Only problem, all nine other interviewees seem to have felt the same....
Any insights about what the form that we should be expecting to receive prior to the interview is for? Additional essays.... State residency stuff?

It's just questions about criminal activity so that your interviews can ask you about it. No big deal

Was complete here around 9/13 and received an interview invite the following week. Surprised with turnaround, but excited nonetheless.

OOS, ~70ish LizzyM

Does anyone know how many students they're interviewing per week? It seems like so many! I thought getting an interview in October was early but now I'm feeling like I'm already way behind and decisions aren't even allowed to be announced yet...

I believe they interview 4 days a week and there's about 10 interviewees each session.

I'll be giving a tour a few times this month so maybe I'll see some of you! 🙂

They're also interviewing (although I don't know how often) at the Charleston and Eastern campuses. IMHO it gives interviewees who may not shine as much or stand out on paper, but who have great stories and personalities, the opportunity they might not see with a school that cuts more from applications before interviews.

Don't let the number of interviews being given worry you. Just be your best you on interview day. I didn't interview until December. Acceptances come throughout the interview season.

Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better. Nervous about the whole process (like everyone is!) and just trying to figure some details out.

So apparently last year they only emailed acceptances? And snail mailed the waitlists and rejections. I guess we'll find out this week

Just a heads up for those worrying about hearing back this week. Based on what a few current students said at the interview, essentially all OOS applicants are waitlisted initially so don't be depressed if you fall into that category! Also, the admissions committee is meeting on Tuesday (and meets every Tuesday for that matter), so don't expect to hear anything until the 19th at the earliest.

At my interview (late September), they told us that they were doing it completely different from last year, there will be no snail mail for rejections. The woman specifically told my entire group that we would all find out on Oct 17th.

Oh, good to know. I wonder if they'll still waitlist most of the OOS applicants

OOS Rejected pre-interview. Good luck to everyone else.

Yes, we were told the same thing mid September. She said October 17th everyone in our interview group would get the email in the morning regarding our decision

Does anyone know the stats on IS students? Like how many are accepted vs interviewed?

Any in state students hear back yet this morning? I've been refreshing my email every 10 minutes!

Waitlisted. OOS. Does anyone know how many people they accept off the waitlist?

Waitlist OOS. Interviewed 10/6. Was really hoping for this school, had such a positive interview experience

Waitlisted as well OOS. Was expecting that tho.

Waitlisted as an out of state applicant as well. Let's hope for a lot of movement!

Surrounding state (VA)

I think it's probably a little bit easier for us to get in because I had ties in that I went camping in WV and did service projects there growing up with Boy Scouts, etc.

Waitlisted IS. Are IS and OOS waitlist treated the same or does one have a better chance at getting off than the other?

Waitlisted OOS. IIRC one of the med students mentioned they pull ~50 people off the waitlist yearly.
