Has anyone who received an II been able to schedule for this Thursday, September 14th? I tried to click on that date as soon as I received the invite and it wouldn't accept the date. So frustrating:smack:
I think it filled, I tried too and it wouldn't work so just picked Sept 29th

That's what I thought but it filled so quickly...thanks. Good luck on your interview.
I know! I was pretty disappointed to not get the 14th. Are you gonna fly into Akron? I'm trying to figure out travel plans

when were you complete? Im submitting today. I believe that their acceptance rate post interview is pretty high.

I submitted my secondary on August 12. I read somewhere they accept 90% of their students from the BS/MD program they have, so I was quite disappointed and almost opted out of submitting the secondary....Boy I'm glad I didn't. It just shows that you can apply broadly and hopefully get somewhere.

I'm from NEO and heard that. Something like 114/135 IS students are from BS/MD and they only need 500 MCAT to stay in the program so thats probably why the avg is so low and the GPA is highercuz they need to maintain their GPA.

According to a friend of mine that goes there they are doing away with the minimum 500 to get in to the MD and making the BS students apply, take the MCAT, and interview like everyone else.

Got an interview 9/29!!! Very excited since I've never been to Ohio! Was wondering if anyone was staying an extra day to explore Cleveland? Or if any locals have suggestions on what to see? Let me know 🙂

Im from the area. Its closer to akron I believe and like 30ish minutes from cleveland. There is the rock and roll hall of fame, the Flats (bars and restaurants on lake erie). Cant really think of anything else. I went to tremont area to a coffeeshop that was also a record shop which was pretty cool. And another coffee shop that was an old fire station. It kinda depends what your taste is.

Thank you for the suggestions. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sounds interesting as well as the Flats. Also, there is an aquarium...decisions decisions.

Also west side market is cool and you can grab lunch there. Visit the house where "A Christmas Story" was shot, Little Italy is always fun. Also if you like tacos, check out Barrio. Its a sit down taco place where you get a card and check off boxes to build your own tacos.

First MD II 😀 Super excited, but I don't know what's in the town or if the town itself has a nice job market for my fiance/is a good place to live. Anyone have insight?

Sorry I meant to reply sooner but life happened...Definitely, some good options. Since I'm only staying an extra day don't want to overload the schedule.

Any tips or comments regarding interview day? Can anyone speak to who does the interviewing as well? I don't see a specific itinerary for the day anywhere

Anyone know how to check the status of your application? All it says on my portal is "complete" but that is pretty vague.

Pretty quiet thread overall

In the past there was a member of the admissions office active on the NEOMED SDN thread that provided info and updates but it appears that that person retired according to last year's thread. I wonder if someone new took over.

I just got a complete email despite submitting in August. Until now, I was under the impression that I was in review already. Haven't heard anything similar to my situation on this thread, so this is confusing.

IS, Direct entry (non BS-MD or postbac)

+1 just now. For those who have received an II, did you all receive this under review email prior to receiving an II? I was wondering how much time passes between receiving this email and receiving an II. I am OOS, direct entry.

I’m IS and am wondering the same. I just got the “under review” email basically saying that my application has progressed to the next stage of review and that I will be considered for an interview along with 900 other applicants.

Your email specified that there are 900 other applicants? Mine did not LOL

I completed my secondary then got an email " Congratulations! You have successfully e-submitted your online application to NEOMED." Three days later. Then nothing until II approximately three weeks later

I received the same email. Essentially a really long, thorough and transparent email about the admissions process and where I stand. It said my application has been reviewed, assigned a "score", and that I will hear for an interview or essentially be in silence until the end of Feb. Really hoping I get the II as I am from Northeast, Ohio and am really interested in NEOMED!

Did you get the II via email or portal? or both?

If you are currently being considered for an interview along with 900 other applicants, I wonder where the rest of us stand (applicants who received the other email - the one about being under review). Like are we going to enter that pool of 900 after our application is reviewed? Or will we not be considered until after all 900 have been reviewed? Hmm...

Oh LOL. Received it this morning. Thought it was so random.
Lol it is really random, I doubt it means anything. Maybe they just email a bunch after people submit secondaries. But it does seem cool, the student I spoke with at NEOMED said it's really easy to get involved with, it's a good learning opportunity, and the patients are very grateful and happy with it

Are people's interviews at different times or do they all start at the same time like 8:30?

Ok, cool. Bc I accidentally hit an 11:00 start time (coincidentally not a problem for me) and right after I did it said the time doesn't exist. Just wanted to make sure it was because I booked it and not bc I had a computer glitch.

II received on 9/30 (took a while to post due to being busy from class)! OOS from Missouri LizzyM 69.5 (512 MCAT, 3.75 gpa) I am excited about this school but the one thing that worries me is that 70k+ tuition cost. do they offer decent financial aid/ scholarships for people or is it basically whats on their website and that's it?

I got the impression from the financial aid presentation that the website is mostly what's available. But you can appeal for in state tuition after first year, although there's no guarantees
