So I saw that sometimes they don't send out complete emails, but is that still the case? I submitted somewhere between November 11-12, and I have yet to receive a complete email. Should I reach out to them?

I didn't get a complete email and interviewed Dec 1st. I doubt you have to do anything

They assign you. The email says,

"Your interview has been scheduled for:

Date: Friday, XXXX
Check in time: 7:30am -8:00am
Check-in location: 5th Floor, Health Professions Division – Terry Building"

There are no options, there is just the one assigned date. They say later in the email that they cannot accommodate changes, but people have switched, so clearly it's possible.
 
Have they started sending completion emails now? I’ve seen that some people have been getting them and others haven’t

Some schools do it where apps are divvied up between reviewers, and different reviewers decide to send complete emails or not. Some people here say they've received IIs without a complete email, so you may not get a complete notification.

Update - i emailed the admissions office about it and they said they sent me an interview request but never heard back from me, but I definitely didn't receive any email from them. But it looks like I have a II for Jan 26!

What! That's so cool. Congrats!

I'm a bit confused by the timing though. When would they have sent out the 1/26 invites? All II's that were sent out yesterday were for 1/12 (mid-January).

They said they haven't sent out the invites for the 26th quite yet. But they assured me I'd be included in that upcoming invitation.

- Edit: They actually just offered Jan 5, so i'm going that one!

Ah! I see. So I guess they had sent you an II for an earlier date, but you missed the confirmation deadline (since you never received it in your email). So now they've set you up for another date. That's awesome! 🙂

Is there any info about scholarships the first class might receive?

I was complete 11/11 and more than a month already. Their timeline for 3-4 weeks is off

I emailed and did the same, they told me I should receive a decision email in 7-10 business days... sounds like a "thanks but no thanks" email is coming soon
 
Hi does anyone who we send the thank you letters to after the interview? I forgot who they said to send it to😱
 
To clear the record, today they said that absolutely no one will have decisions before January 1st. We were the last group interviewing this calendar year, and the adcom doesn't meet until after the new year. They wanted at least three rounds of interviews before the adcom met, and we were round #3. They said mid-January was the earliest anyone at all could expect a decision.

Also, can confirm that they said very few initial acceptances would be given out, with a large expected waitlist, since they just don't know who's going to pick an acceptance here over an acceptance somewhere else. Hopefully everyone backs out and leaves me a spot... my god, this place is wonderful. I want to go here so bad. 😍

I'm so happy to hear that you had a great time! With it being a new program and all, I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm excited and looking forward to interview day! 🙂

You're going to love it. My god, the weather alone... the high was 76 today. Would not hurt my feelings in the slightest to live here.

Sure. They did a mini intro PBL session during the interview, and the way they made us talk through the scenario made sense to me. They said there is always a faculty facilitator in the PBL groups to make sure the students stay on track and look up the right material, so you don't miss anything. I know it's a method that works for me.

They use the Broward college sim lab - which is a misnomer, because it's an entire sim building with an ER, several rooms, delivery suite, etc. They will be building a sim lab for the MD program itself, but that's really not necessary - the Broward sim building is awesome.

Oh, and they're building their own hospital right across from the Terry building. Literally right across from it. There's a freestanding ER in the location now, which will be incorporated into the main hospital once it's built. It should be done in time to be available for the inaugural class's fourth year elective rotations.

What I also liked is how students in the interview asked things like, "Are we going to have X interest group/run a free clinic/whatever" and they told us that the inaugural class is going to be the one to set all of these things up. I get the vibe that they will literally let the first class do whatever they want within reason.

I am just confused because at the first interview day they explicitly said that the latest we should expect to hear back on Jan. 1 and that was at the latest

They told us the second week of January at the latest. I interviewed the second day.

Do you think they meant the first group will hear back Jan. 1st, the second group will hear back the second week of Jan, and the third group will hear back in mid-Jan? It makes sense for why all our groups were told something different

Honestly, I am not sure. My guess is they will release everyone’s decision who interviewed prior to the new year on one particular date. Most likely will be a lot of waitlist so I am fine waiting.

I really don't think so. Mr. Pritchett said the adcom isn't meeting at all until after the new year... maybe they had planned to meet earlier and something fell through? He said something along the lines of how they wanted to grow their pool of people to review, and 60 was a pretty good place to start. They have 60 interviewed candidates to review as of yesterday.

I'll be very upset if they don't get back by Jan 1st. . . 🙁
