Website says they’re both named after Dr. Kiran Patel?
I could be wrong. I’m going off word-of-mouth information.

Oh god that means my interview date decision is coming up. Godhelpme
Is it too late to apply? had no idea this school even existed
Tomorrow is the deadline, so a day before the deadline is kind of late but why not?Is it too late to apply? had no idea this school even existed
I hope you join me in becoming future innovators and trailblazers as an MS1 at Nova.
Accepted. Interviewed 12/15. I am so excited. I Loved Nova and everything they stood for. I'm so thankful for my acceptance and cannot wait to attend. I loved everything about the interview day from how the actual interviews were conducted right down to how the staff welcomed me when I walked into the building (when I entered a staff member helped me fix the collar on my jacket to help me look presentable. If you ever read this, just know I can't thank you enough so I did it three times: thank you thank you thank you) . When I interviewed, I met an incredible group of amazing applicants from all across the country. In fact, I met someone who laid the foundations of an amazing friendship. I know that they will make an excellent doctor and I hope that they have been accepted with me.
If you have yet to interview or are waiting to hear back, both Post-II and Pre-II, do not fret until the dreaded R comes. From what they told me at our interview day they are interviewing 360 total candidates this cycle. I know that many have been disappointed by the three week turnaround they mentioned in the submission/complete email but they are working hard to review applications throughly. I urge you to try and be patient in this difficult time. After meeting the admissions staff, I know they are trying their very best to look at all the applicants holistically. If you have not heard, you are defiantly still in the running. It is an incredibly stressful process for me personally, one which almost broke my will.
I love each and every one of you and wish you nothing but the best in your future medical school endeavors. I hope you join me in becoming future innovators and trailblazers as an MS1 at Nova. PM if you want to know more about Nova or my app.
Best of Wishes,
JohnJacobJungler
P.S. there are so many emojis, and so little space to use them, SDN can you upload these emojis into my iphone, they are so lit.

Have they made a Facebook page for the accepted students yet? I couldn’t find one lol so not sure if that’s something we do on our own![]()
Yeah I agree. I’ll email themMe either. One of us should probably throw an email out to admissions. Probably work best with at least one of the admins being on NSU admissions...for verification purposes and such.

Yes I saw that too, this could be trueFrom the "Giving" page on Nova's MD site:
"The rousing success and early completion of NSU’s $250 million Realizing Potential philanthropic campaign reflect high donor confidence in NSU’s ability to turn aspirations into reality. This includes the $25 million gift from the Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel Family Foundation, Inc. to provide scholarships for promising students needing financial support to attend medical school. This is a tangible example of how one family can make a lasting impact on so many lives."
Makes me think they are not going to give out free tuition from the recent $25 million gift unless there is a financial need from students.

That’s a good point. Average student does need financial help in the form of grants, loans etc. That’s a very vague stagement. Most students need financial support to attend med school in the form of loans. We just gotta wait and see

another friday.. will it be a friyay or nah
I’m really hoping it’s today for 1/5 people
Some decisions have already gone out this week, no? I’d assume there won’t be anything new sent out until next week.
Is it past the deadline to submit a secondary? I had a technical glitch and it took them almost a month to fix it and release my secondary... not sure if I'm missing it but I can't find a deadline anywhere.

Interviewed today, just providing additional information
1. <2000 applications received
2. Committee plans to give out 130 acceptances
3. 16 acceptances across 4 interview dates (80 people?) have been given out. They just looked at the interviews from the first week of January this past week
4. Large focus on leadership, teaching and innovation
5. Current focus is providing scholarships to students in need. They said even with the donation this past weekend they are unsure if they could fund the inaugural class, even for 2 years
6. There are lectures, just not mandatory. It's not all PBL, but a significant chunk is
7. Anatomy has been shortened down and is less intensive than other courses offered to make room for other things
8. 4 weeks for admissions decisions. No one will be rejected post-interview this cycle
FYI 1/5 was the 4th interview groupThanks for the info. That’s interesting no one will be rejected post-interview. Also sounds like 1/5 group will be getting decisions next week.
Has anyone from 1/5 received an acceptance email yet? Or do you think all acceptance, waitlist, and reject emails will go out next week for 1/5?FYI 1/5 was the 4th interview group
They said today that 1/5 was reviewed at the meeting yesterday, so I assume they will find out beginning of next week seeing how Fridays are busy with interviews. The 16 acceptances were from the initial three interview days, so averaging ~5 acceptances per interview. Rest receive waitlist. They expect to interview 360 candidates, so with 130 acceptances going out, we have a 50% chance! Good luck!
Ha, alright I have a couple drinks in me and thought 260, so actually 36.11%, whoops my b.That math 😕
