I'm sorry about that 🙁 getting interviews at a UC is a really good sign otherwise that you will be more than alright, hang in there!

They should be creating one in a few months. You will get and email from the school when it is created

yeah i feel you. i was complete in mid july and silenced ever since. the silence is starting to piss me off

Oh, that was my interview day too!!! They got back in less than 2 weeks post interview?! What was the phone number we might hear back from again?
 
I have not received the email for the 2nd app from UC Davis
Does it mean I have to go to the website and look for the 2nd app myself or wait for them to send the email ?

You have to wait for UC Davis to invite you to submit a secondary. If they do invite you to submit one, it will be sent to your email.
 
got waitlisted, interviewed late oct.

I did well in my interviews honestly but I think my zero connection to norcal had a big impact. good luck everyone!

the secondary asks you that what ties if any to Northern Ca and they can tell by your permanent address.

Is it true that they will be sending out secondaries all thru Feb? I have no ties to Northern California, I think that's why I never got a secondary

I have no ties to NorthCal but I got a secondary. I don't think thats the reason why you haven't

Same! Except I was about a month behind you. I'd like to think we are in interview range... but who knows. I'm debating whether to check that everything is in order with my LORs and such...

Have you heard back from other schools?

I second this! I lived my entire life in SoCal with very little and weak ties to NorCal but I got secondary and accepted eventually!

From my experience, I feel strongly that Davis is really interested in your community involvement, your personalities (communication and empathy) and your potential in becoming a primary care physician

I'm thinking there must be multiple filters for secondaries. I got mine almost instantaneoulsy after being verified and I am a lifelong NorCal resident - maybe that is one way to get filtered in, but not having ties doesn't automatically filter you out. Similarly, NorCal ties doesn't automatically get you an II, even though I wish it did. 🙂

I agree! Even though we are attempting to decipher the secondary screening process in an objective manner, it may not be! It could very well be 60% subjective and with the massive number of apps Davis gets, the process then becomes completely random!

Haha, indeed I heard from one former adcom firsthand just how random it can be. The phrase "throwing darts" was used. 🙂
 
Has Davis sent out any post secondary rejections yet?

siiigh the idea of having someone describe my dream school chances as throwing darts is just messed up. ive been in norcal pretty much right next to davis my whole life and i have extensive community service but i guess theres something they just dont like 🙁

Jazz, yes! I've gotten a few II's from other schools, all out of state. Haven't heard back from UC's though. Not complaining. Just trying to stay positive (and strike power poses when I need it) 🙂 Good luck to everyone!

To clarify: the dart throwing adcom was *not* from Davis. Phew! lol.
You are still in the running there, right?

Oh that's great, congrats! Maybe it's my imagination, but the UCs seem to be on a slower pace than in years past. I guess we're just a bumper crop of applicants, right?

I've seen those power poses - from Amelia Shephard on Grey's Anatomy. I didn't even realize there was a Season 14 until yesterday. Woo hoo, more video binging to pass the time! lol
 
How far in advance do they send a confirmation regarding the student-run clinic tours? I haven't heard back yet and my interview is on Friday...

I mean, i havent heard a thing from here so technically yes! still have a little hope but i mean, ive heard so many of my friends last cycle just go through the silence only to be rejected in early the next year so i've 90% accepted that as my fate just to be realistic lol

I'm with you. I heard a similar story about UCLA from a friend who didn't hear anything until March. I guess it's a UC thing? Oh well, they don't know what they're missing. 🙂
 
For those that have already interviewed does the day end exactly at 3pm or were you finished a little early or later?
