Received a secondary 8/10, complete 7/25. Good luck everyone 🙂

hopefully there is still hope for me then.....one of two schools to not send me a secondary....sent primary on 8/4

It took me about a month to get a secondary, so keep your chin up. I've heard the CA schools trickle them out.

Just got my MCAT score today. Hopefully I will get a secondary here. One of my top choices.

Yea, it was a pretty stressful month trying to pre-write most of the secondaries for the schools I want to apply to. But it was all worth it since I got a good enough score for a chance at these mega schools haha. Good luck to you this cycle.

I'm sure there is. I still have 2 CA schools I'm waiting on a secondary from (UCLA and UCD).

When did you submit your primary?

verified June 16, sent my primary to UCSF July 26

Just wondering, have any MSTP reapplicants (or reapplicants in general) received secondaries yet? My primary was verified/sent on July 6th.

Regular MD reapp here. Received a secondary fairly quickly. Verified early June.

I'm assuming there's no set amount of time between submitting and getting a secondary? Been about 2+ weeks for me.

Also, does UCSF need letters before screening?

No letters required pre-secondary. I didn't assign letters until after.

I got my secondary a week after I got verified, verified mid-July secondary 7/24. MCAT 515

Does anyone know how intense the screening is here? Does getting a secondary give you a fairly good chance of getting an II?

Yeah, UCSF screens out 2/3 of applicants.

Secondary submitted!

For those of you who submitted and applied to "MD/PRIME" on the secondary, did you change your AMCAS designation to "Combined Medical Degree/Graduate" or did you leave it as "Regular MD"? I'm not sure what to do since the combined designation on AMCAS only mentions JMP and not PRIME.

Finally got a secondary! Took awhile, started to think I might not get one here.

hi everyone, looking for some feedback here as I'm sure if i should apply or not...
OOS re-applicant with 3.75 cGPA and 3.68 sGPA, 510 mcat that dropped to 508 🙁 . last year i submitted my primary very late and somehow got the secondary for UCSF & UCSD... this year, i applied a month earlier (first week of july, still not great) but i havent applied to UCSF yet. The only reason I'm thinking of adding it now is that i got the secondary to UCLA recently, which i didnt get last year. overall, my application was very very research heavy last year, but after getting feedback from adcoms, ive done over 1000+ clincal hours plus interesting non-clincal volunteer that is geared towards my passion for psychiatry. I'm also ORM racially, but i did go through some challenges that helped me mature significantly.

TL;DR: mcat that barely makes the 10th percentile, but last year got secondary to UCSF & UCSD but not UCLA. This year, made a lot of improvement to application, already received and submitted UCLA secondary, now wondering if i should apply to UCSF again.

You never know if you don't try. GO FOR IT! 🙂
