Other IS-ers - did you receive a separate complete email from the residency email?

On the map on MSAR it seems as though its mainly NE and NY. Since MA has a lot of colleges tho I feel like if you're from some random state but were here for college that should mean something compared to having no ties

@taeyeonlover forgot to quote sorry

is anyone's "LOR received" box next to the letter sources unchecked/checked? I got the email confirming my application was complete, but I'm now paranoid......

Mine was originally checked and then after it was complete I randomly checked again and it went away, I emailed them and they said they had no idea why it was unchecked but confirmed I was complete. After that I checked again it was checked so who knows, I think as long as you got complete email you're good

What's the best way to get to campus? I'm flying from Seattle, and it's ~$300 cheaper to fly to Boston than to Worcester. Is there a convenient way to get to Worcester from Boston?

you can take the commuter rail from South Station to Worcester. it's a pretty easy commute (~1 hour)

Also can rent a car and drive on the MassPike in about an hour I think but sometimes theres a lot of traffic depending when so the train actually may be easier

Also if you're willing to rent a car check Bradley in Hartford,CT to see if its any cheaper, its only about extra 15 min drive

Thanks ya'll! This is really helpful information, sounds like flying to Boston is totally doable.

Does anyone have advice on interview dates? Like for a school that does rolling admissions like UMass, is there any kind of advantage/disadvantage to having an earlier interview date compared to a later one? Have my MSTP interview scheduled for mid-september but may have to move it to mid-october due to finances:/

Had an interview here yesterday, unsure who to address a thank you letter to. The MMI interviewers only gave their first names during the interview. Any suggestions?

It doesn't matter, I interviewed in December and found out in January which was well before some kids who interviewed before me found out.

Does anyone know if they accept application updates. I looked on their FAQs but did not see it listed.

I just got an II and they gave me the 10/17 date. I'm OOS in Maryland and I can't make it because of another interview. Do they accomadate this? Has anyone had to move their date.

Does anyone know if there's a student host program? There's nothing about it on the II but I just wanted to check

does anyone know if umass does rolling rejections too? i was complete 7/14 (IS) but i've heard nothing 🙁

I'm not sure, but I really think that they are just slow. I was complete at a similar time and I haven't heard anything either. I'm IS too, and they interview almost half of their IS applicants according to MSAR. I am above their average stats so I think they just haven't read everyone's files yet. I got an II from stony brook last week and I had been complete since 7/7 so this process just takes a while, don't stress.

I will second this - I was complete around the same time and only got my II last week. I heard from a former student (now resident at the hospital I work at) that UMass sometimes doesn't contact its in-state applicants until late-January.

Anyone interviewing before Oct 11th or is that the first day? Just curious

Yeah, just contact them and they should reschedule. I had to reschedule mine.

Has anyone's portal password expired?! I don't know why mine says that!

II! LM ~75, complete 7/14. Out of state but strong ties to MA (went to school here and live/work here now, just not long enough to be in-state by Mass's aggressive definition)

II! OOS (across the country), no ties to Massachusetts whatsoever. PURCH applicant and interviewee. Strong volunteering background. Stats in signature, but LizzyM = about 67. Not URM. I am incredibly excited about getting to spend some time at this school. I haven’t heard a single complaint about it, and I think their curriculum and culture are excellent fits from what I can currently ascertain.

yup, I just met another MA resident at an interview this week and he hadn't heard anything either. they are just really slow.
IS complete mid-August and received II at the beginning of September if that helps.
