I don't really know much about "traffic day". What is it and why is after May 1st a key time?

People can only have 1 acceptance after April 30, so many seats open up when people with multiple acceptances drop their acceptances at other programs.

Not rejected from OOS waitlist yet, no emails from them recently. But, FYI about some OOS rejections yesterday as well, I personally know of 2 people. At least things are FINALLY changing, folks! Nice to know they are reviewing things again. I am guessing if you are still on WL you'll make the ranked list or be accepted.

Spoke to the office a day or so ago and they said the same as before. The plan is still to send the ranked list on, or most likely before May 15th, and not gonna happen before May 1st. Also said they are going to release more people below a certain ranking. The wait continues..

Yeah, 2nd tier isn't too promising I have heard from past cycles. An old friend got more info from Duluth recently, idk if it was about his actual rank or the whole tier, but they said it's only made it to my friend's spot on 2nd tier WL 3 times in the last 14 or 15 years...

Last year there was some WL acceptances on 5/4 or 5/5. Rankings came out around the 8th or 10th I think, they had some issues with it.

Nope, they’re different. As far as I understand, wait list was just a deferred decision status. Alternate ranking means you will be accepted, in the order specified, if people withdraw from now until August.

I’m in da 50s. It looks like in the past (>5 years ago) they would move into the sixties or seventies. Then apparently they changed the way they offered acceptances before issuing the ranked list to decrease movement because it “looked bad.” If only it were still the old system!! Are you thinking this means it’s pretty much over then?

The alternate list hotline for TC says that original #14 is now #1 on the list. Movement seemed steady for a couple weeks, but the message hasn't been changed since May 14. Unsure if this is a bad sign at this point... I'm so close 🙁

Hey guys. I was rejected from the University of Minnesota, and I just received a $100 check in the mail from them. There are no details along with the check / invoice stating as to why they sent this. Anyone else experience this?

hey guys, I was accepted to the U of MN TC yesterday 🙂 I'm mostly writing this to say that their waitlist is still moving .. and for those of you looking at this from 2018-2019 (hi!) to see how much the 2017-2018 waitlist moved .. I was original #20 on the alternate list.
