I would call. Most schools have an "activation" step to help assess whether students are receiving their secondaries. Disappointing UNC doesn't.
 
I called this afternoon but no one picked up. It's Sunday so no real surprise there. I'll call tomorrow and post back whatever they tell me!

Update 7/24: I called around noon today, no one picked up.

Shoot, I too missed the 7 days - I submitted at 9 days. I glanced an saw the October 16, 2017 deadline and thought I had till then. Does anyone know how strict they are about 7 day deadline. Ive been trying to get all mine in within 2 weeks of receiving and I hoped that would be good enough.

I also called and was told the same thing! She said it's not the 7 days is not a hard deadline and that the application still stays open for you to submit. She said she had not even submitted the first batch of applications to the committee to review yet. You can still get considered for an interview if you submit after 7 days. Maybe you're looked upon better if you submit within 7 days as instructed, but that's the only thing I can think of.

I submitted on the 7th/8th day, but my letter won't come in until maybe tomorrow.
 
Submitted my secondary, but I just noticed how they recommend that OOS have an MCAT of 514 or above. I have a 513 MCAT and a 3.9 GPA and I'm wondering if I just wasted my money.
 
Does anyone know if there is a way to submit information on connections/ties to the school? Im OOS but both my Mom and Aunt are UNC grads

anyone know if there is a way to check application status (if they received letters of recommendation)? i checked the app status page and it just has the date i paid for the secondary and my verified addresses.

i got their secondary complete email though: "Congratulations! You have successfully completed the supplemental application and paid the application fee. If we have need of further information or if upon review of your application materials you are selected for an interview, we will notify you via email." no confirmation about letter of recs received though or that the whole app is complete

ya i have this same issue but never received the submission email?
 
Wow that makes me feel better, I was about 13 days because I completely skipped over the one week part so I'm glad theres still a chance they'll look at it
 
I'm submitting my application in about a week but have my secondaries Pre written. Am I applying too late OOS? 511 MCAT and 3.7 cGPA and good ECs. This is one of my reach school's but do I really have any shot with these stats?

on their website it says OOS should have >514 to apply, but I'm not sure that's a hard line. Hopefully they're not strict about it bc I'm applying there IS with a 3.19 sGPA, and their cutoff IS for sGPA is >3.2

Just to add to this: I submitted my primary July 1st, 3.69 cGPA 3.4 sGPA, 513 MCAT; IS. I'm still waiting and I've received secondaries from other schools...have I been screened out?
 
Secondary received! OOS, 516 MCAT. Added this school on Friday.

eeeek, I really really want to live in NC, and UNC sounds amazing!
 
I went to UC Berkeley for undergrad and we had a abnormal chemistry sequence recommended for premedical students:
1 semester gen chem with lab
2 semesters o chem with lab
1 semester biochem, no lab, but I also took a semester long cell physiology lab course.
Does anyone know if this qualifies for UNC's prerequisites? They state one year of general chem with lab and one year of o chem with lab is needed.

I tried emailing admissions and they just redirected me to their website. Unfortunately, their unclear website is why I was emailing in the first place.

The "Prerequisites and MCATs" page states "Substitutions are not acceptable for any of the required courses and the science course work must be taken in a seated class." I take that to mean that just 1 semester of gen chem is insufficient. 🙁

so nobody heard anything yet? I thought they would come out yesterday with some II because last year it was 2 days after they sent out that email about the process

In the email that the secondary link comes in, it says "To ensure review of your complete applicant profile, for consideration of an interview, please submit your application within 7 days of receiving the invitation."

Earlier in the thread people said they called the admissions office and the deadline was just so people don't "drag their feet." I wouldn't worry about it. No school has a hard deadline for secondaries other than the actual end date in winter.
 
Anyone know how UNC sends out their secondaries? I was verified 08/11 and still nothing, I'm also IS.

I'm wondering the same thing... I was verified on 8/10 and haven't heard anything yet either. Seems like they may send secondaries out in batches.
 
Will committees delay reviewing an app because of optional letters still not sent to AMCAS? I've had trouble "motivating" a letter writer.
