FWIW I found out I was waitlisted the 14th of March last year along with a bunch of other people from last year's thread. There were a couple lucky people who missed the waitlist email wave and were accepted the next morning.

Do they send out any waitlist/rejections before March 14? I interviewed in September, IS, I feel like I'm just waiting for a rejection at this point. It's been 5 months since I interviewed...

I thought acceptances/rejections would go out anytime between March 1st to March 15th. I wouldn't freak out!! Even though you interviewed early and are IS, only a small portion get accepted before February. Majority of the class gets filled up in March so I'd say you have an equal chance as someone who interviewed much later.

Also don't know how you've managed to stay sane for so long. I interviewed in early December and I'm dying... but be assured it probably doesn't affect your chances of getting in.

Current MS1 here -- definitely don't freak out. I interviewed late October and wasn't told until March. Just keep breathing and waiting for that phone call!

I heard from a friend who's been accepted that most of their resident spots are full 🙁

If that's true then I'm going to pretty upset about it. They tell us that only 25% will be accepted before March and then completely change it without notice is wrong.

Yeah I was looking at the Facebook group and it looks like some of the class of 2022 members are actually already M1’s already and some are staff but asaide from those it looks like they have already given out over half of their acceptances. Plus there are people who won’t join the Facebook group so it is probably higher. 🙁 very discouraging.

Agreed... Apparently there's some fb group that's predominantly full of UT resident acceptances. I wish they'd be more transparent with their admissions process

What a joke! This whole process has made me so frustrated. I think medical schools need to stop keeping their applicants in the dark, especially when they charge so much just to apply to their program. I'm half-tempted to call and ask what's going on.

I have heard there are currently around 80 Facebook page members not including admin/current MS1. Still 45 spots left people, let’s remain optimistic!

To add a little bit more to my neuroticism, I can no longer find the class of 2022 Facebook group haha. I think they must have hid it from everyone else.

I'm going to stop freaking out and hope for the best. Everything else is out of my control.

Yeah, it's changed from "closed" to "secret" now.

They must have seen the messages on here 😉

Do you or anyone else have any idea how many women have been accepted vs interviewed?! Seemed like there were many more men interviewed (due to applicant pool at UT) and curious what the interview/ acceptance ratio is. Freaking out over here!!!

After talking with all of my friends who have interviewed on separate days, and looking at my own interview day (n = 7), the average # of women per interview day is around 3.25 (so, 3-4). There are 32-ish interview days, so that means they're only interviewing around 96-128 women (IS, OOS, and Idaho) out of the 500 interview slots they have.

According to MSAR, 70 men and 55 females matriculated.

Thank you so much!

Hola everyone, I was accepted in December but have decided to attend another school and so have declined my acceptance to the U. Thus, a spot has opened up and I wish you all the best! I'm an IS. Good luck everybody!
You're the hero we need, but don't deserve!

That's a relief to hear! Did you have to wait until March 15, or did you hear back earlier in March?

Any calls?? Cmon, somebody post on here and tell us Dr Chan is calling today 🙂

Does he normally call on Wednesdays?
That seems to have been the trend for the last couple of years, but those have all been the first three Wednesday’s in March. As they will only have two March Wednesday’s before they’re deadline this year, I had small hopes that they would make an exception and start calling today.

fingers crossed then.

I think that Dr. Chan usually makes calls before ten, so I'm going to assume that nothing will happen today. Hopefully I am wrong though.

Anyone else thinking that they are destined for a rejection?

Right there with you... 🙁

Any accepted students want to share the number of people in the facebook group haha?

I've been curious, is the facebook group for people who have already accepted their acceptance? Or is it for anyone who receives an acceptance? Because if it's the latter, the number of members could definitely surpass 125, right?

You’re definitely right! See no reason to freak out I can confirm the group is open to all accepted applicants. Plus there’s no way they can restrict it to matriculants because applicants can hold multiple acceptances until some date in April
