Anyone who has interviewed here: Is there an office to put our luggage/change?
There was not a designated room for luggage, but they told us that we can keep our stuff in the room where we wait for our interviews.

Any ethical questions at this interview or are you mostly asked about your PS & activities?

I was not asked any ethical question at the interview. Most of the questions were about my activities. They also asked a little bit about rural health problems in WV

Does West Virginia consider Canadian's OOS or is it harder for a Canadian to gain an acceptance here than OOS?

I haven't seen a Canadian student here, although there seem to be a few at interviews each year.

"Have you ever had an adjudication or resolution, been convicted of a violation, or pled No Contest to any Federal, State, or Local Statue, regulation, or ordinance, or entered into any negotiated plea bargain, or settlement relating to a misdemeanor or felony?"

Does a speeding ticket count? (not a reckless ticket)

If you weren't accused of a misdemeanor or felony, you're good. Lots of people get run-of-the-mill speeding tickets.

Well I am Canadian and got a II. My SO is from there so I'm not sure if that helped.

For anyone that' gotten a decision...no matter what it was did they really stick to the 1 week turnaround and what time were the emails/decisions sent? Pretty anxious.

Yea, I would put money on the fact that you will receive it on the Wednesday after your interview. Mine was sent around 11:45 AM

Congrats! We interviewed the same day (I'm sure you can decipher my real name from my username lol) If anyone deserves it, it's you!

Haha yes, I cracked the code. Thank you so much for the kind words! Did you get a decision?

Me too. My family is from Charleston, so I wasn't surprised. Was really hoping for Morgantown..... hoping to find someone to change before April.

No rush, you have until the end of year 2 to switch. My family is from the Tristate area in KY so wasn' surprised about Charleston either.

Congratulations to all of you who got accepted today. Welcome to the family! I am sure we will have an exciting four years ahead of us.

I wish the best to all students who got waitlisted or rejected. Don't let this minor set back get through you. If you really want to be a doctor, then you WILL be! Just keep your hopes up.

I am interviewing here in January. Does anyone know if WVU is receptive to updates from applicants prior to the interview? I have a few really meaningful experiences to update them on.

In addition, do they consider LORs post interview? I have another LOR from a nurse who can comment on my ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and was wondering if it would be worth the effort to submit to WVU prior to my interview date?

As far as update letters go, they are receptive! You can upload multiple through your applicant portal, and admissions will be notified whenever you upload anything. I can't speak on the letter of recommendation though. However, they make final decisions within a week of interviewing you, so make sure you upload everything you want them to consider on your portal in time.

Thanks for the response!
Wow! 1-week post-interview. I love how speedy this school is. They should do a presentation to other schools about how they are able to do file reviews so efficiently. Whoever is running the admission show here is the REAL MVP.

For those of you interviewing soon, when you submitted the pre-interview form, did the page just refresh or did you receive a complete message? The page just reloaded when I submitted and I don't want to submit the form twice if that is normal.

It reloaded for me as well, so I resubmitted it. After the second submission I think there was a complete or thank you message.

Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of getting from the Pittsburgh airport to Morgantown?
- I was looking at the Grey Line but I would have to wait ~8 hours for the bus to arrive, let alone the 3 hour bus ride.
- I can't rent a car because apparently, you have to be 25 to do that.
- I was honestly thinking about just ubbering it. It would cost around ~$120.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks 🙂

I think the cheapest way is using the bus. Did you check other bus companies? maybe they have better times.
Also, some car companies will be willing to rent you a car as long as you pay a fee. I rented a car from Enterprise and they have what's called "Young driver fee" which was around $20.
Good luck.

I flew into the Morgantown Municipal Airport. I believe it was $30 each way.

Hi all! The official Facebook group has been created for the incoming class, just search WVU School of Medicine Class of 2022.

Best of luck!

I just looked and saw that there’s a Wvu school of medicine class of 2022 group that looks brand new. I just joined but there’s only a couple people in it so far. I’m assuming this will be the page??

I just saw it and joined it too.

When I looked it was $49-79 depending on the day you flew. Also, I can't seem to use Priceline, expedia or similar travel services to utilize the Morgantown airport, but it's easy enough to buy tickets through their website.
