Has anybody been accepted after receiving a 'deferred acceptance' email?

Hi all! I was accepted to BCOM in March and I was hoping to speak to any current students about board prep? I saw in the in the 2018-2019 catalog that one of the classes taken at the end of second year, the Pathophysiologic Overview of Medicine class, which offered both a practice COMLEX and practice USMLE Step 1 exam. Is this still the case? I don't think I've ever seen a DO school with USMLE board prep included, so this is definitely a pro for me!

Calling the admissions office said our rank is already determined and cant be told to us where we are on it.
Not sure about the waitlist moment, although they said most happens during mid may.
It seems as if deferred applicants are given a priority first tho.

I noticed most applicants who were waitlisted earlier in the cycle were accepted. Yeah there should be a lot of movement around mid May because most people would have chosen their top choices and can only hold 1 acceptance then. I remember one of the current first year saying at the interview day not to worry if you're waitlisted because they pull a lot of people off of it.

No there is just one list! I was just wondering if anyone got a different status, since some schools have that. But looks like that is not the case for Burrell!

No more DA list? Do you know if they only call to pull people off the waitlist or do they send an e-mail as well?

Can any current students share their schedule for exams around the holidays? For example, do exams fall before winter break, after, or are they on both ends of the break? Thanks in advance!
 
Last year's required medical instruments:
1) Stethoscope
2) Otoscope/Opthalmoscope
3) Sphymomanometer
4) Reflex hammer
5) Two tuning forks for the hearing and neurological exams
6) Cloth tape measure
7) Pen light
 
Anybody on wait-list receive an email about a video chat today with current students?

I got put on the alternate list. How is that different from a waitlist and is that better or worse?

They fixed this - "we look forward to seeing you in July" in the follow-up e-mail, for those on the waitlist.
 
for those of you who have been accepted into the DO program, can you share your MCAT and or GPA?
 
Did they say how many people were on deferred acceptance and wailists lists?
 
Has anyone on the Alternate List heard anything about waitlist movement and timetable? Or come off of the waitlist? I called admissions yesterday and left a message without any response.

Not yet! I have a feeling there will need to be a lot more movement on the deferred acceptance list before we hear back. Good luck!! ~

Not yet! I have experienced the same; we just need to be patient (even though it's killing me!)
