They took the secondary essay portion out of the portal. You should of gotten a second email with the secondary link (Microsoft form). You fill that out, along with those two sections in the portal.

The secondary essay portion is still on the portal actually. But yes, fill it out on the second email with the Microsoft forms!
 
So we will only have 2 checkmarks in the online submission right? We do nothing about the actual secondary application tab (other than fill it out in the other link)?
 
wait.... for some of these pre reqs it says required- 4 credits but 2 minimum grades? For example, for biology 1, my grade and credits meet the requirement but I only have 1 grade since lab was combined....... same for chemistry, physics, etc.....
 
For people who had to send an essay separately in order to submit, do you know if admissions is planning on adding that extra essay back to your app considering the latest email said to not email it?

I think they will add those to the app, the email states not to send the remaining questions.
 
Do we really need to input our AMCAS ID and AMCAS password to access the gateway? Why does AMCAS send me a link when I say "create new account"?

I would go ahead and make a new password. I think this is separate from your amcas account. Even after I changed my password for the gateway my old password still works for my aamc account

The "2" for minimum grade means it has to be a 2.0 GPA (C) or above; they don't accept C- grades (1.7 grade points) or below.
 
Has anyone been able to access the disclosure form we're supposed to send in with the check? The link in the email I got from them doesn't work.

I saw you already have some II's, do you think thats making you more or less motivated? I have 2 and I think I'm getting a little complacent because of that along with the fact that I have already done so many and this is literally my last one. The fact that they made the system so odd doesn't help either haha.

Lol only got one so far. I think it’s fear that’s motivating me haha. Having applied to so many but not hearing back from most of them makes me nervous and want to apply to more
 
For those who’ve been notified that your app is complete/in preliminary review— how long did it take between you completely finalized the app (photo, prerequisites, secondary + essays, and mailed check) and getting notified that you were complete / in prelim review? I just completed everything yesterday and am curious what to expect.

Hey, for the course requirements section on the Applicant Gateway, it said something funny like "Minimum 3 credits; Minimum 2 Grades... from two different disciplines" under each of the tabs to put in Humanities courses... Was I supposed to put in two different classes for each tab? Or just one per tab (3 humanities courses listed in total)? I see they only require 3 courses on their main website, but the "minimum 2 grades, 2 disciplines" on each tab threw me off.

I felt weird about that too but I just put one class in each section. Someone said that Minimum Grade means minimum grade point average of C- (2.0).

That someone was me. "Minimum Grades" is how LiaisonCAS states what the minimum grade point allowed is. Honestly, I think they should use a clearer term, like "Minimum Grade Points Earned" or a "2.0" instead of the "2". Just to make sure the correct information is out there, a C is 2.0 and C- is 1.7. C- is not sufficient.

-3.3uGPA, 4.0gGPA (40 credit post-bacc masters)
-508 MCAT
-OOS, average E.C.s

how long did it take for you guys to get confirmation your payment was received/you were complete?
 
Did anyone get an automated "action required- missing app items" email late this afternoon? I was in prelim review 08/28 but this email says that I need to submit a photo and prerequisite info through the applicant gateway, which I thought was initially glitched?

You still have to do pre-reqs and photo in the applicant gateway. The problem with the gateway was only with the essays, they’re still using it for photo and pre-reqs

You have to click on the option of creating a new account. From there they ask you to enter your AMCAS info and reset the password. I know it’s confusing. Hope that helps.

You're welcome, it's kind of confusing. I initially had that issue, but I think I clicked "First time here? Set up account", which is below the username and password fields and I was able to login after following the instructions.
 
I have the secondary questions completed, but honestly I don't think I'm gonna submit it. Administration is one of those things that when it's working well you don't notice it.. Apology emails with confusing instructions and misspellings, sketchy payment by mail, and follow-up emails that encourage you to submit your secondary. Very odd. Not saying the education will be bad, but I'd have to go and meet the people there to not feel worried.
