I believe 4th year students find out their match placement this Friday! Best of luck to all those hard-earned matches!! I am excited to find out how this year's matches turn out to be, as I already heard good news about the uro/optho/ortho matches by the KCU students.

Do they go over housing options on Accepted Students' day? This is one of my biggest anxieties...
So I did some research on housing before I went. I toured places Friday and put down deposits to get on lists. Some did this Saturday after the event as well.

Note this was in Joplin.

Also I know someone asked this but I was casual. Jeans and a t shirt with a jacket casual.

Can any current student explain a little more about how they choose locations for clerkships?
This is more so to help me decide what kind of housing I want, since I want to stay in KC the whole time but I know it isn't guaranteed... Ty!

You rank them. I think there is 10 choices. You can write something why you want a certain one. Ie the Wichita one because you are from there

Is there time during Accepted Student's to talk to other students and get to know them? Also, when do we get our medical equipment lists!

For sure.

As for equipment. I bought mine in pieces from amazon mostly.I bought a Cardio 4 steth, and a oto/opthalomoscope.You can buy the whole kit from the school. But honestly you dont need that fancy of one

Can any current students shed some light regarding the school's health insurance? I'll no longer have medical insurance through the military once school starts so my wife and I are trying to decide between what her work offers and KCU.

ER - $100
Urgent Care - $70
Office - $35
Specialist - $70

I think it was about $150 a month paid 2x a year?

Just withdrew my acceptance here, hope it goes to one of you all!

Best of luck to you all the rest of this cycle and in your futures :)

Anyone got their background checks done yet? Does the school formally tell you that you're cleared?

I did mine back in November. The school does not tell you besides when they send you your matriculation update emails that tells you what you’re missing. However, if you use your reference number provided by student check, you can search the status and see the background check report yourself.

Is accepted student day recommended/required? Just a bit worried about spending money and trekking out to campus again and paying down that deposit

Does anyone know what the wait list movement is like (how many are on the wait list and how many usually get off)?

Nope. Like I said before my mom got more out of it than I did.

I agree with @Magus5454. It is more for your family to get a sense of what is going on. Don't feel like you have to be there.

Thanks guys. Will there be another opportunity for families to look around? Maybe during orientation?

And the facebook group hasnt accepted my join request yet OTL

There will be an opportunity at the beginning of orientation (or end depending on when your White Coat Ceremony is).

Received email saying that the interview cycle at KCU is over. Oh, well. It was worth a try.

Can anyone attest to how serious a driving violation (minor infraction) is for this school?

Thank you @Magus5454 and @DrRedstone ! they emailed me back and said that it's nothing to really worry about because they said sometimes tickets will show up on your record as an infraction depending on the state that you're in and often students don't realize it. But they said that it's a common thing and they're just making sure they do their best to follow protocol for obvious reasons that I could understand.

TLDR: it's not a big deal unless it's like a DUI in some cases or they feel you're trying to hide something from them.

Damn it would be so silly for a school to rescind an acceptance over minor traffic violations lol

Don't buy it from the school. 3rd years will be selling them for much cheaper because no one really needs them after second year (except for your steth). I bought mine for much less than the school was selling and it's the exact same thing-- I'll be selling it next year lol

I bought a 100ish dollar one off of amazon
It was good enough and anytime you need one for a SP, you use the one in the room. I did splurge on my steth as you will be using that for a while.

For the "Incoming class year" on the acceptance & matriculation fee, did you guys put 2023?

Per the DO match list thread, looks like KCU is having a pretty baller year.

Did everyone get a provider stamp on the immunization records/titers from that you submitted to SentryMD? The provider at the office I went to said she didn't have a stamp so she just signed. Now I'm wondering if I need to go back and have them stamp it or if I should just submit it?

I'm not going to lie, I was debating whether to put down my deposit and seeing the match list is not helping with my decision
