2018-2019 Stanford University School of Medicine

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm not accepted, but I find it strange that they haven't officially accepted people through AMCAS yet. I figured they wanted to take advantage of the choose your med school tool to get a sense of how many spots they need to fill before accepting any more applicants.
They have actually officially accepted through AMCAS, as of like a week ago.

Have you been invited? I haven’t gotten an invite for the FB group yet but I want to join it. Met lots of cool people during my interview day and I want to see who else got in!
The link is in the email about admitted students weekend -- title was "Welcome to Stanford Medical School!" from Luis, the recruitment chair

I didn’t get that email...
well I think what you can do is, search the group on Facebook and request to join (I was wrong it's not secret it's actually closed I believe -- you can find it via search, but can't see the members). If your facebook name matches one they have on record as admitted, they'll let you in the group.

I just found it in my spam folder. Definitely check there. Genuinely surprised that a Stanford email would be considered spam for me considering I star and mark everything I get from them as important.

Since it appears that I may be missing a couple emails from Stanford, I was wondering if anyone received the second look google form from the MD program?

Did Stanford consolidate its 3 interview waves this year? Given that March 15 is the AAMC deadline for all initial acceptance offers by schools...

Wait, what? It is?

By 3/15 all medical schools must have accepted at least the number of students they plan to matriculate. So for Stanford that would be around 90 As or so. Usually waitlists will also be released by then and As will go out as people make decisions.

Whether or not they’ve consolidated, we can only speculate. That said, I hope not cuz I’m still waiting on the MSTP decision lol

Anyone interview in Feb, but haven't heard anything?

Anyone know what the schedule is for second look?

Also, anyone planning to go to both Stanford and UCLA's second look? Realizing now that they have one day of overlap...

I want to go to both! Not sure how to make it work. I was planning on doing Stanford's Th-Friday and then flying to LA Saturday morning, as UCLA's main activities are all Saturday. Still, it's not ideal. You have any ideas?

Anyone been able to contact any admissions lately? No response to emails or calls? I just want to send in an update and get on with my life

In case anyone else is interested, my friend who got admitted said that there's 95+ members in the fb group rn. She wasn't sure how many were current students, but seems like Stanford's filled up a good chunk of their class already ~~whee~~

Isn't the class 90? So they would have to accept a good amount more than that to count for people who don't actually go no?

RIP to us on the WL ...
Has everybody who has interviewed until Feb received a decision already?

I don't think the FB group is a good indication of how much WL movement there will be...

Hello! I’m a current first-year MD student at Stanford, and we’re so excited to drop our music video for this year! It’s “thank u, next” a parody of the med school admissions process. We had so much fun creating it, and we hope you have a fun (and relatable) time watching it too!

Has anyone else somehow still not been rejected pre-II? Wondering when they send those out, the interview season is over right?

My d just got one from the WL! She is so out of their league MCAT-wise, but obviously their parody vid is spot on because she is amazing in so many other ways as a non-trad. I was watching that parody vid this am and cried at about 2:20. It's so true and so wonderful to see it is also reality at Stanford. Good luck to the rest of you. I have followed so many of you on your journeys and am more impressed than ever having seen this whole process as a parent.

She got accepted off of the waitlist or got a straight acceptance?

did um. anyone else get an acceptance call? I genuinely think I hallucinated through the whole experience and embarrassed myself but I was just so steamrolled from utter shock and idk how to think in straight lines anymore.

Nope no acceptance, no WL, no rejection...still in limbo. Were you already waitlisted or is this the first time they contacted you post interview?

Have any accepted students received financial aid offers yet? If so, how long approx did it take after receiving acceptance call?

My gut feeling is no, but does anybody know if Stanford is receptive to LOIs or updates now? Especially now that the update button is gone...

Did you fill out the financial aid app and submit your parent tax documents? The email from the FA office said offers go out within 3 weeks of finishing the financial aid app. It’s been a little over 2 weeks for me and I haven’t gotten anything yet though

Is this app in addition to FAFSA? I don't think I received one - maybe I should reach out to the financial aid office.

Stanford's not showing up in the "choose your medical school" page on my AMCAS - does anyone know if there's a delay in updating AMCAS or?

If you set up your SUnet ID and sign into axess, there's a quick FA application you have to fill out. In the secondary application portal under the financial aid tab there is a link Stanford's financial aid office website. If you read around a bit on their website under "how to apply," it explains what to do!

Also if you call the office, they can def help you! I called them this week to ask them a question about something and they were super nice/helpful.

Any waitlisted folks submit the FAFSA and not hear back about the financial aid app?
